CL550 SPORT EXOTIC OR NO ??

2008 CL550
My 2008 CL550 at the moment does not have the AMG package on everything is in the garage car goes to the body shop April 25 front,rear and skirts go on the 20 CL63 wheels are on now I could not stand the stock 18" anymore

No...hardly. Nice car? Yes. Exotic? No. A Lambo is exotic......a Ford GT is exotic. I'm not even sure one would call a Bentley GT "exotic."
Even the AMG's now....not exotic with exception of maybe a Black Series SL. We had this argument on the M6 board when I had that car....same thing there....not an exotic.
M6's......SL65's....CL65's.....sad as it is, 99.9% of the people don't know the difference because they look the exact same with the exception of some emblems and 2 extra tailpipes.
Exotic and rare are 2 different things when it comes to cars but I guess it depends on your definition. A Bentley GT in Wisconsin might be rare/exotic whereas in LA it's probably nothing you would look twice at because there would be two more up the street.

The AMG yes I consider it exotic. CL550 no unless you live in a place like Watertown, NY where most people there have never even seen a Mercedes. The cl550 as said before is a luxury car. Exotic to me is Gallardo, R8, Ford GT, 350, 458, f355, 550, Countach, 959, ect.
Even thou its not a "Exotic" its still an amazing looking car in everyway.

Looks like a blast there my friend. I am from Saratoga, NY and I also live in Venice/Sarasota area. My area and neighborhood has its share of exotics new and old. Google Watertown. Not much life out there.

Most people see it as just another benz but i like it that way because you dont get the unwanted attention. I considered a more "exotic" maserati gran turismo but in the end, the cl is just a better built car. Its easier to live with, more features, better mpg, more reliable, same acceleration, cheaper to maintain, and imo better looking.

Exotic cars are like crazy women; lots of fun for the first three months. Then very hard to get rid of. Benefit/cost curve goes from positive to severely negative quickly.
Unless you have a 275 GTB/4 or the like.
Go to a driver school and learn to enjoy your wonderful German car.

The CL is not an exotic, but it is a rare car. Even here in miami you would see countless S class and SLs but only a few CLs. I love the fact that its rare to spot one and 90% of the people around break necks. The car is in a class of its own, specially with the right wheels

Park the following cars outside your local elementary school on a warm sunny day:
Lambo Lp460
Ferrari 458
CL65
Bentley GT
Audi r8
Porsche Carrera GT
Aston Martin Vanquish
……and then you’ll find out real quick how exotic the CL really is.
The CL is a damn nice car, but not exotic in my opinion. The Mercedes SLR is exotic.
