i have driven an 07 with 22's and there didn't seem to be any issues at all -(i am a wheel guy and ride rims on all my cars/trucks)- and you should talk to b.gorman to build you a set of custom wheels. 22's look great - have several friends ridding 22's on their s550's

It will

ruin your ride.
20's will ruin your ride for that matter.
N.J. roads will ruin a 20-22 inch rim in a matter of hours.
Besides it will look very silly

Your ride quality will definitely suffer with 22" wheels due to how thin your tires are going to be... It won't be too bad, but the difference is definitely noticeable when upgrading. For those concerned with the quality of the ride, we highly recommend going 20"...

mercedes 2011 CLS550 with AMG package
I put HRE 21's on a s550 and not that much of a ride difference. The 21's are recommended by most tuner companies ie
RennTec
CEC
Brabus

I am looking at trading in the 2011 CLS and getting a 08 CL 550 because I love the s550 so much.

Its all a matter of preference and where you live, etc.

Let me know if there's any thing I can help with.

I have 20 inch AMG wheels and i can't stop bending my wheels. The roads are horrible.

12 CLS63, 12 GLK350, 08 RR SPORT SC,
22" is the only way. Doesn't affect my ride too much. I used to leave it on S mode but now I use comfort. Fills up my wheel well perfect after lowering it. 21" is good until you need tires.
