Troubleshooting Please Advise **No Start but can Start
I have a 2008 CL550 amg package that I'm attempting to get back on the road. The car isn't starting as it should. The car can start if I have someone with test light touch power to the 10amp CDI Control Unit N3/9 fuse; in front fuse box. But the windows, center command, ac controls, park brake, etc aren't working. It will drive in limp mode. I have just recently replaced the front fuse box and sam and the prefuse box by he starter battery. I have purchase a rear sam module which isn't installed yet. My key will occasionally unlock and lock the car thus recognizing my key inside but I can only start it if the cdi control unit fuse get power from test light. Any advise or help is appreciated

Yes I had, I replaced the rear battery couple months back. This battery was found to have been drained whilst in the car. Replace it and it's now on trickle charger since the front sam was replaced

**Update**
As of now, I've replaced the front fuse box near starter battery, I also replaced the front sam with used one from w221 S550 with same part number. Also I sent out my key and eis out to be repaired. I just received it back and installed it. So still no start and no communication but I do have things that are different.
1st when I insert key I can hear clicking from underneath the hood (dash isn't lighting up with insertion or turn)
2nd key fob isn't locking / unlocking the door with button and not being sensed by the keyless go either.
Benztech777 I believe cdi control unit is #28 or 27 in my front fuse box that connects to the front sam.

CDI is a diesel control unit.
Why are you guessing at it? Take the car to a shop. Throwing parts at a problem you don't know the cause of gets expensive quickly on these cars.
If you look at the actual values in the M/E, it should show why there isn't a start authorization.

Well I bought this as project to help my programming and coding skills. I'm not a fan of the customer service I received when I initially when in to my dealer. I'm unfamiliar with the abbreviation m/e. I did manage to have my modis ultra scan the vehicle but the SAM modules and CGW were not accessible do to the lack of CAN messaging along the network.
