2005 CL55
When is the 2006 CL55 coming to dealers?

Still considering if I should trade my 2004, and 2005 CLK55's in for a CL55. I'm wondering when the 2006 will come out, and what the differences betweeen the 2005 will be?

Thanks in advance.

............My understanding is that the CL55 continues in its current form until it is replaced by CL63. After that, no more CL55's. The 2006 CL will be a different body style, and the AMG CL63 should begin arriving at the earliest a year later. The question is whther or not MB will continue to sell the current "old stlye" CL55 until the CL63 arrives in aboout two years from now.

I head the same thing about the CL55 being replaced in 2 years, but why would the 2006 CL have a different body style and not the 2006 CL55? I found the 2005 CL55 I want, but am still considering weather to trade in my 2004 and 2005 CLK55's for it, or sell the 2004 and keep the 2005 CLK55. In what way do you think the resale value will be on the 2005 CL55 all things considered, and would your trade two CLK55's for the 2005 CL55, or keep one of the CLK's?

Thanks

The CL will be replaced a completely new CL 2007 model. That is after the S-Class 's full launch in 2005/2006. Rule of thumb is never to buy a new car of the top version of a fading out model. The 2005/2006 CL is just a facelift. I also heard rumours that there will be no 2006 CLK55 but replaced by a CLK63.
Getting a bit confusing now, likely my next upgrade will be the C63 or CLK63. Can't afford a CL in my country but looked the photo of a 2007 CL, it is sooooooooo beautiful.

..........I personally wouldn't trade two CLK 55's for a CL55. Whatever you do, you are going to loose money by depreciation. So I never really factor resale value when buying a luxury car.....can make you depressed. For example, you can get a 2003 CL55 for under $80K, this is car that sold for $120K. It has dropped an incredible $40K in 2 years. If you like a CL55 and can afford it and want, get one and enjoy it. There is always going to be something better in the future that will make the car you buy today loose value significantly.

2005 CL55
I agree about waiting for the new model, and selling my black 2004 clk55 privately vs trading both cars in. Weather I trade it in or not I'll take a huge hit 20k after taxes. But trading is nice because in Florida you save the 8% sales tax on what you get for your car. Or in my case 2 cars. At this point I have to really want the 2005 CL55, and make sure I get a great deal as there seems to be a nice supply of them in Florida. My dealer found what I wanted in 2 hours. Pewter, keyless go, parktronic, cd changer, trunk closer. I haven't even driven one yet. I will this week, certinally before I buy one! So after considering everything I am mostly concerned with the new CL AMG coming out in 2007?? Anymore information on this would realy help. I'll be looking into it through other sources as well, and post what ever I find.

Thanks!

2005 CL55
I am now 75% sure I'm going to trade in my 2 CLK55's for a 2005 CL55, pewter, charcoal, keyless-go, parktronic, trunk closer. This is the car I want, color, etc... And to be honest I am very happy with the deal my dealer offered of which I'll push for an even better deal. Seems like sales are low with gas prices up, and dealers are willing to deal more in favor of the customer these days. As well with the 2005 CLK55 being the last of its kind, if MB does come out in 2006 with the CLK63 should be a plus to trade it as well. Any comments and advice are more then welcome!

Thanks

The 2006 model will be here june/july. There will be no significant changes. What kind of discount are you getting on the cl55?
