Just joined the club!!
Picked up a 03 55 today....I wont get it till Tuesday but couldnt wait to post...I have been waiting on the right deal for almost a year. Going from a 01 CLK55 and cant wait to feel the extra 150 HP.....Yes I bought it site unseen..(stupid?)...Is the lag anoying or just overhyped?

The 55 series motor uses a Supercharger. You will love the extra torque and hp. It is more than enough to snap your head back and leave some long tire marks on the pavement.

From what I hear the SC has a slight 1/10 lag to it when stomped on......I sure would hope I know the aspiration method upon purchasing a vehicle.....But thanks for the turbo comment.

It might be the supercharger engaging, but that should be rare. The advantage of superchargers over turbo's is that there is relatively no lag, nothing to spool up. It's just straight running off the belts and what not that already exist.
