If not HRE, you're broke and shouldn't be driving a Benz in the first place

I have HRE 545Rs and they are pretty heavy. I don't race on them, so I don't worry about the extra weight on the street. I think the size has something to do with the weight...

Based on what I've read here, the HRE Comps are fairly light... but everyone is now questioning their strength because of the motorsports failures.

With the right size tires, it will look perfect. I've always liked those wheels, probably because of the rarity.

I'm running stock Viper SRT-10 sizes, 345/30 19 rear Michelin Pilot Sports. I don't really like them, so I'm going to try Pirellis 355/25 19. It's a shorter tire, but closer to my stock height tires.

This is on a C5 Corvette, not a Benz. My SL is stock and I won't have my E55 for another 1.5 weeks.

I didn't know they even made a tire that wide. Good God... can you still spin them?

Only in three gears. Jesus.

And I don't think the HRE Competitions have been banned anywhere yet, that was the sole purpose of creating them. To have a lineup dedicated for motorsports.

If I'm wrong though, please show me where. I was already wrong with the engine advancement stuff!

Damn man, it's still hitting me. 13" wide.

The wheels look great on the C5. I am sure you can also use the car as a sled in the snow with those tires.

Be sure to post your pictures when you get the wheels mounted up with new tires!!!

I will if you will... wouldn't mind seeing that E55. The "Ultimate" sleeper machine.

Clk&Slk, very nice ride...one of my favorite on this CL forum. I love what you did to the back bumper...that's what I been trying to put together. How much is the black out cover and does it fit prefectly or need modification...The bumper has to be 2003 and up AMG bumper correct? And I totally agree with you the bigger rims.

apdesign, To mine surprised, the black out cover only cost me $60 (retail $70). It fit perfectly onto the curve of mine 2001 Cl bumper excepted for the little end but you really can't tell the difference.
