Guys I posted some before and after pics of my car stock and with renntech wheels on the CL Class (W215) list. Please look and give me some opinions. Here is just one pic, there are 5 more on the CL list. Here is the link:

https://mbworld.org/forums/cl-class-w215/113759-need-some-honest-opinions.html

Thanks!

Honestly, I'm not sure what to say. The AMG's make the car look more executive / classy while the RENNtechs are sporty.

Don't get me wrong though, the car is still screaming out beautiful.

What are the widths for the AMG's and the widths for the RENNtechs? I'd go for the ones that will prove to be better performance. Also what is the weight on each rim?

AMG's are 8.5 and 9.5. The renns are 9 front and rear in this pic, but I would upgrade the rears to 10 if I kept the renns. The factory tire size is 245/45/18 front and that would go to 255/40/19 and the factory rear is 275/40/18 and I would go to 295/30/19. There is a specific offset to do this right.

Not counting tires the AMG wheels are 28 pounds each, The Renns are an incredibly light 20 pounds each, forged, 3x as strong.

Go with the Renntech rims. The AMG's are plain, common, heavy and everybody has them.

Adam I do not know of any HRE wheel that is that light. Very good quality, but they seem to hover around the 24-26 pound range. Is there something you know that I do not?

too bad HRE competition wheels were banned from racing due to total wheel failures -- sorry had to adam!

For all the RENNtech wheel haters I LOVE THEM.

I had them on a past AMG and would buy them again if I ever felt like blowing 4-8k on wheels again!

They look great, no one has them, the are ultra strong, and have great brake clearance if you ever want to do a huge brake upgrade.

Take a look at the Competition Series (C20, C21 and C22). The C series is ultra light weight. Not sure if they are lighter than the renntechs however.

The C20 18x8.5 weighs approx 17lbs.

None at all... Actually, I think the ride got better due to the Michelin PS2 tires vs the stock Bridgestone RE050's.

Hey there AMG2GO! Those Renns are all you, brother. I've never seen a wheel even close to that on a CL down here on Long Island, so exclusivity is definitely in their favor. And I know you're all about the performance, so I say hell, if you like 'em, then pull the trigger and slap those bad boys on there. And I'm sure they look even sicker in person. I'll let ya know when I get up there.

Good luck with them,
-V

DITTO ! As soon as you've seen enough of the "9 spoke", the "5 spoke" present a newer look. Then the "5 spoke" gets old so............etc etc. You get the point. The Renns look real sharp, and that's from a "5 spoke" fan. Enjoy !

Thanks. At this point I am pretty sure I will keep them. They are just so much lighter than the AMG's... being 3x as strong is a nice bonus.

In that size, they are in fact lighter. The 17 & 18 Lb HRE specs are for smaller wheels.
