2001 CL55 AMG
Hey guys, New CL owner here..

Hi everyone. My name's Peter and I'm new here. I am on Ferrarichat.com and a user over there told me to come here with my questions on my new 2001 CL55 AMG.. I got it two days ago and I just love it. Its my first nice car. I originally had a 2001 hyandai and 94 lincoln just to beat around in while i had my very modded 300zx twin turbo to play in. the CL isn' quite as fast as my 300zx especially around 130ish but down arond 0-80 the cl keeps its own. in any event, i just want to know how i can go about modding my CL while staying naturally aspirated. does the motor respond well to nitrous? I spent an hour looking at the Kleaman site and noticed they have some ECU's, headers, exhaust, and other tuning products. Also, I'm trying to turn off the stability programs and i read where you can force your car into test mode but i also ready it was only for the c32 AMG. anways, here are the pics and i'll start asking my questions later..

btw, I did not try to make it look like i have an 03. I just like that exaust better and like the 03 tail lights better. btw, i took off my mufflers and the car sounds AMAZING..

Hello Peter,

I'm a very new CL55 owner as well (just purchased mine yesterday). I had an E55 modded by Kleemann which I traded in on this car. I had a K3 setup (ECU, larger crankshaft pulley for more boost, headers, and cams) with the Kleemann LSD (Limited Slip Differential).

Kleemann makes a great product and yes you can use Nitrous safely (as safe as it can be as long as you use a wet setup. There are a few E55 owners who are using a wet setup with fantastic results. There are also a few doing a dry setup (adding no addition fuel with the nitrous) which I would not recommend doing.

By the way, I like your wheels. What make/model are they?

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Darren

congrats on new car. how loud is it with no mufflers? i imagine that it sounds amazing but very agressive. am thinking about taking out the resonators and keeping stock mufflers for a while on cl55.

Nice wheels Linh, I like them a lot better than the chrome ones. I forgot to tell you my old exhaust does NOT have an AMG stamp... let me know if you still want it.

I am not sure about headlight rings man.... seems a little "autozone" to me.

Thanks but i decided that i'm going with the full AMG quad exhuast muffler. As for the chrome rings, i do agreed with you now that it installed. I thought about remove it many times and you finally decided it for me. It sure look really nice on my Clk but not the same as on the CL. It coming off this weekend.

How much are you paying for an AMG muffler? why don't you get the Eisenman? Its lighter and it sounds better. Plus you have a choice of tips.
