German muscle car?
Just for fun, I decided to think of a German muscle car. And there was no better car to fit the criteria other than the CL55. Here's the breakdown
-2 door coupe body
-2+2
-Front engine, rear drive
-Big V8
Only thing that didn't quite fit was the supercharger. A traditional muscle car usually has a huge N/A V8. Can anyone else think of a better German car that can be called a muscle car?

-big engine in a relatively small car
So I wouldn't say that the CL55 fits the criteria, I would say it goes to the CLK55. Small car with a big N/A V8.

The term "small" would be more fitting of pony cars which are smaller cars, such as the Mustang. But you have to admit, the CL is a relatively big car.

1987 Porsche 928 S4
the Porsche 928 was the first car to meet your specifications. Production stopped in 1995 but I hear Weissach is working on something similar, probably using the 4.5l v8 from the Cayenne (both blown and NA).
I had a 88 928 S4. A joy to drive, especially on the highway. And with the rear muffler bypassed, rumbled like a 5.0l v8 should.

Well, they didn't exactly call it a "Muscle Car", but did have this to say about it...
"And perhaps no production Benz has been more blessed by AMG's modifications than this one. For although other cars are both "smooth" and "powerful," the CLK55 makes this merger of opposite attributes seem effortless, with the tightest turns uncurled by its masterful suspension and endless torque delivered sans whiplash from its V-8. This is, in short, a 21st-century hot rod. It's respectable-looking on the outside, smooth and sybaritic when you feel like cruising--and capable of eating other sports cars for lunch whenever you step on the gas."

Perhaps I am biased :p , but my vote is for the W208 CLK55
