Vibration - New Tranny On The Way
I have had a really bad vibration when the car is cold. In drive when shifting through the gears it will vibrate right before the upshift. I mentioned this to the dealer when I brought it in for A service. They just called and said they had to replace the tranny and it would be a week or two. Ill keep you posted.

The car has less than 30,000 miles so it is still under the main factory warranty. I will be glad to have it fixed as I was starting to dislike the car......

I told the dealer today what bad luck I have had with my MBZ's the last couple of years and they said what are you talking about......That this was good since I would be getting a newer style tranny and new software......They emphasized the software.....well have to wait and see.

Proform, I have exactly the same problem as this with my CL65 only when cold, it also seems to blur the 1st to 2nd shifts as well, causing the engine to rev higher than normal.
Did yours suffer this or just the vibration?
Cheers, Matt

Your car appears to be affected by it's Valeo brand radiator which has caused coolant to leak into the transmission, this is a well known issue on most MB models from MY's 03-early 04. Sad but true. This will be important for others here; so please ask the technician doing the work to check and see where your old radiator was manufactured (it's on a small white tag on top of the radiator). Valeo produces radiators for MB's in France and Poland, so far the Polish ones seem to be the culprit and your feedback is important to further verify this.

OK I will ask or look for myself. I dont think that was it cause he said they found metal in the pan and thats why they are changing everything the oil touched. I will check for sure thow.

The main radiator and trans cooler are the same part. They are 1 unit.
BTW: The Valeo radiator issue is pretty much confined to the C, CLK, CLS and E class cars. But if there was metal in the trans then the Radiator issue is not your problem anyway.

The radiator was a BAER and was manufactured in Germany... Drives like a new car . Much much more responsive...feels like I added 100 lbs of tourqe.

Don't know country of origin. Just Valeo. The contamination causes slipping and wierd shifting characteristics, not usually noises or vibrations from what I've seen.
Also metal in the pan, in this case, would be due to a failure of an internal component not due to burned clutch disks inside the trans most likely.

I was about to get a DB-9 but after driving this around a few days Iam having second thoughts....It is like a new car. My tranny must of been jacked the entire time...crazy.
