Supercharger clutch noise
Just purchased a '03 CL55 and I'm hearing the supercharger clutch engaging only at low RPM from the start. The noise is similar to an A/C clutch or belt slipping but it's only when I tap the accelerator.
Is this normal on the supercharged Benz?
Thanks,

Thanks for the advise,
I see you also have a '03 cl55, my '03 just hit 20k and the dash display shows service in 6 days. Is there any major items that need to be serviced or changed at this time to keep the warranty valid?
Thanks for any imput.

Totally incorrect, it can be fixed, the clutch need to be disassembled and sanded/cleaned up. the noise will only go away for a few thousand miles, and although every MB-spom and t/s know about the repair, the legal department will not clear it, so they cannot endorse it.
But it can be done, I have personally done over a hundred cars.
Works just great.

I had it deglazed once and the chirp disappeared for 2000 miles and then came back. I was told if I keep deglazing the clutch it will weaken it and eventually damage it. You'll get used to the chirp.

ACTUALLY there is a NEW clutch pack update thats gets rid of the sound! BUT dealer wouldn't do the job since the only complaint was the sound ..it has to be something more mechanical wrong then they will change it....*****es.
