CL65 owners: How do you like your cars?
Hi,
I have a 2005 SL600 with Sport package and I may sell my car to get a 2005 CL65. I absolutely love my car but the wife is 8 months pregnant and I feel having at least a back seat would be helpful at times.
Are you guys satisfied with your cars? I think the CL AMG is amazing looking. Are you worried about the 07 CL's making the 03 - 06 obsolete? I can't believe how much a dive in price the CL55's have taken! What do you guys think will happen with future depreciation of the current model CL65? I appreciate any input. Thanks.

Proform, his car is a V12 biturbo, even though it didn't come with the badge.

To answer your question, I've had my CL65 for 2 months now, and I love it. Even more refined than the SL, with a modicum of practicality, and as you know, the power is insane! I think it looks better than the new CL, but then again, I also bought one of the last E39 M5's when I saw what the 2004 was going to look like.

I'm a die hard RUSH fan!!! I've been to every concert since Signals in 1981 and I am an amateur drummer. Thus my screen name has 2112 in it. I'm surprised no one has asked before you? What type of Doctor are you? I'm an anesthesiologist as most people figure out from my license plate.

Does the 05 CL have an Aux. input in the glove? My 05 SL does not so I rely on my MP3 CD/DVD player in the command. I don't think the CL has a single disc opening in the command like the SL or am I wrong? Is the CD changer MP3 CD compatible? If not then it is like going back to the dark ages using a six disc CD changer for music. That would suck!! I keep checking with Dension on the availability of the M.O.S.T. system I-Pod integration kit and last I heard was October. I won't hold my breath!

Oh by the way I love my CL65- its a fine compliment to the E55. The interior and seats are nicer but I like the gauges and the Nav better in my E. Speedwise, if feels a little faster than my heavily modded E55 but I know that anything over 80mph and the 65 is just gone. I did the Carlsson lowering module, trunk spoiler, and dropped the orange markers. I should have the HRE's on next week and then Ill post pics. I was also able get rid of those yellow city lights, man those things are in tight, much harder to reach than in the E.

Also, the dealer can add an iPod connector if you like.
The wide screen in the CL came out in 2003....something to consider if you're looking at a CL600...much nicer than the small screen 03-04 SL's.

My sl plays dvds and even has it as an option on the screen but does not show a picture whats up with that? Also vic55 did you get euro strips or did you find a clear lense for your cl65? I did clear lights in the e55 but cant find any for the sl so was going to go for the euro strips. Did you get your car from Vadim? My k2 e55 felt faster and slammed me in the seat compared t me sl but damn that sl is very fast and so so smooth its hard to belive. Since you have both what do you think??

If there is no Aux input then Mercedes can't place an I-pod integration kit as far as I understand. It is the Aux input they use to wire it up. This is the big flaw with the 05's. I think the 06's may have the option for the kit but I'm not sure?
