the non AMG front grill is awful, looks like it has the same grill shape as the R class

Ewing in Plano TX has a CL 500 that they're selling for sticker.

The sales guy said he sees the Maibach styling in the rear end of the CL.
I said, "You would see the Maibach, I see a Toyota."

Saw the CL63 at the LA Auto Show... The body kit doesn't seem to help it much

ok i went to benz dealership wich is like 10 blocks away from me , and i've seen the new cl LOL =] it ain't that bad actualy its totaly diff from the 215 cuz 215 looks GANGSTA MAFIA lol the new cl looks much smaller , interesting design looks rich the windows etc i liked it but it looks NOTHING like benz lol it was liek revolution of the CL not the evolution how it was suposed to be , and i've seen the ml63 there and OMG you ml63 owners are lucky ******* lol SICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. AND as soon as i left benz dealership everybody was looking at me like im a window shopper lol few blocks away i see cl55 i was driving my maxima 06 6 speed manual i cdnt see was it 55 or 65 lol so i started playing with him , when i pulled up the passenger in the car goes like NOTHING CAN HELP YOU lol then i see its a v12 biturbo and those gun mettal rims lol omg he actualy raced me ahahahah it was liek i was going backwards .

Wow! I’m not the least bit surprised at everyones initial review of this new CL. I saw the car (non AMG) and I wasn’t impressed. Definitely not a $100,000 car.

I saw one over the weekend at MB of San Diego, it's a pewter though, I didnt like the color at all but they were asking MSRP at ~ $107K.

One was a launch edition CL550 and the other 2 were designo.

I must say the car looks better in person than in pictures.

While the cars were tempting ... I'm going to wait til the more powerful ones are available. Also I think a good bodykit will be a must.

The CL 550 over 3 or so years holds 58% of it's value as opposed to 56% for the S 550 sedan. That's what the people at my dealer told me this past Wednesday when I got my new CL 550, and before that we compared numbers to the S550 with the same approx. price and the monthly payments were lower for the CL.

I was told by my dealership in Los Angeles that the residual for CL is worse than S. Which is correct?

I dunno either, but he laughed out loud a lot!

i saw both the CL550 and CL63 at the LA Auto show today. thought the CL63 looked pretty sweet.

also saw a tricket out CL on the road last friday. i guess it was a CL550 with full aero kit/rims - looked good but a bit too much compared to the CL63 body kit.

what was your money factor...did you pay over retail...do you still have a SL?

I paid nothing over retail. The car came in at about $115k not including I guess the out the door stuff. Has Designo & Launch Edition features not available on regular CL's. It has every single option plus special order items except for Distr. Plus.

I never had an SL65, I just use that as my screen name because I've always loved that car. :-)

The payments are in fact lower than a cheaper! S 550 due to the better residuals on the CL. I would suggest maybe talking to an MB finance specialist to confirm if you're still unsure.
I got very lucky, I just happened to be at the dealer at the right time and got the CL with no waiting, no ordering, and no dealer markup.

You guys weren't kidding. Just saw the CL550 at MB of White Plains. I feel bad that MB would put out something like that to replace the classic last gen CL's. There was an S right next to it and after comparing the 2 it just cemented in my head that MB completely failed with this car. The S550 is beautiful, the CL550 is just plain ugly and boring. I went inside it, it was very soft and luxurious, great interior! It was almost identical to that of the S. But the exterior really killed it. What a shame.

Just like any Mercedes, its a MUST for that car to have the AMG Package, i think it looks awesome with it! Without it though i would never be caught dead in it!
