the vin is VIN: WDBPJ74JX3A036735 if you google it you will see the car. he suggested using ebay program it is sort of like an escrow service but with the 20000 thousand dollar limit, he is asking for 30 grand us, great deal!!!
this is what he is suggesting
1. I will contact eBay Vehicle Protection Program and give all the info about this deal.
2. They will send us the forms by email - for you about the payment.
3. I will send the car to your location and you will send the money at eBay.
4. After you will inspect the car and decide to keep it, eBay will forward this money.
thanks again guys

without driving it and having my dealer check it out first.
Better yet send the money to an Escrow Company.
You know how many fake escrow companies exist. Too many.
The money you think you are saving would way better be spent on a Starmark CL55. Take your time and shop around. Drive a bunch of them before you buy one. DONT BUY ON PRICE ALONE. Never.

thanks for any input.
You can only lose on this deal.
Google the Vin.
Looks like a great car for the price then.
Now lets look at the facts:
So this person buys this CL55 for $53K End of Oct 06.
Ships it to Germany. There is another $ 5K at least in shipping.
Now wants to sell it and ship it back to the US for $ 30K.
Why would someone do this ?? Thats a $ 30K + hit in 3 Months.
Looks like a total scam. Run away my friend.
anyway, it's a scam, i've e-mailed a couple of people about cars on autotrader, and there's always the 'i moved for work and they let me take my car now i want to sell it' story.
read this:

As you've probably already seen on my ad the price I'm looking for my 2003 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG is US $30,000.00. Few words about the car: it is in perfect condition, there's not even a scratch nor dents on it.Everything from the motor to the tires and mirrors is shining and looking brand new. I have a clear title for it , no liens or loans.
I must tell you that the problem faced until now with the selling of the car is that I've settled in Germany and the car is here with me. Still, the vehicle is registered in the States and has a clear title (in my hand). The car drives and looks brand new and has an accident free history. I will not ask for money from you because you haven't seen / test driven the car yet. Here is how we can do this. My suggestion is eBay Vehicle Protection Program for the transaction. The financial part will be managed by them. The only thing I request from you is to make the payment to eBay but no money will reach my account until the car is inspected. No offense, but I need to be sure the person who receives the car is verified by a legitimate party.
Look how this works:
1. I will contact eBay Vehicle Protection Program and give all the info about this deal.
2. They will send us the forms by email - for you about the payment.
3. I will send the car to your location and you will send the money at eBay.
4. After you will inspect the car and decide to keep it, eBay will forward this money.
If by any reason the car is not as described, or if you find any problems with it I will pay for the returning fees. I'm sure it won't be the case because it's a state of art looking and working vehicle.
I apologize if it seems like I'm pushing on this deal but I really want to be sure everything is clarified before any further steps. Please, let me know if some of the terms does not feet you or if you have other queries. Feedback is appreciated.
I'm willing to cover the shipping fees due to my location, and you will not pay extra for it.
The estimated time of delivery is 6-8 days.
If you wish to proceed with the purchase, please provide me your full name and address so I can initiate the deal through eBay Vehicle Protection Program right away.
let me know what you think
it may be true when they say it is too good to be true
any ways thanks for all the input guys
On another occasion, I had a similar thing with a 2001 SL500. Car was supposedly in San Jose but the seller was in Germany. Too good to be true price for the car in the photos, which was immaculate and had really great options (pano roof, anyone?).
Walk away from this type of nonsense and either see about getting a loan before shopping, or be prepared to pay what the car is really worth (or choose a more affordable car). You will regret dealing with these scammers, and the more information you give them only invites their further intrusion into your affairs. Caveat emptor!
check out this link and how many have been had by this scam http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3660523/
thanks for whoever that posted the MSNBC link in the first place
cheers,
