CL 63 or New Maserati GT
Trying to decide which one of these vehicles to order. CL will be faster with over 100 more hp and torque. Prefer the styling and exhaust note more on the Maserati. Pricing should be around the same. Any thoughts?

I'd get the Maserati in a second..............same basic powerplant of the F430, beautiful interior, and alot more exclusive.
Plus the Maserati will offer a much more involving drive.

2007 CL 550
If you want a well constructed car that will work flawlessly every day, then buy the CL 63. If you want to take trips to the repair shop on a weekly basis and if you like the sound of rattles then go for the Maserati.

It's interesting to see the irony in that statement.

As an example, I can think of two Maserati dealers in the Chicagoland area. There are at least 10 Mercedes dealers.

Well I would not even say that these cars are on the same competition level, it comes down to the style of driving you are more interested in as you know AMG cars only come in Automatic and it would not be right for them to come in anything else..
I personally would not hesitate in this situation and go for the Benz and not only for the establishment and more comfortable daily driving and mechanical work, but for quality looks and performance of the car...

I'm assuming the CL will depreciate more?
don't know if you're taking that into account...but I'd go with an aston if possible.
What kind of options are you looking for? I'm sure the CL will fare well in the luxury department.

At least at my MB dealer, first 4-5 guys on CL63 list are guys who've already gotten their 599s (@MSRP) and own/have owned various 65s....my sense is many of these guys suspect CL63 will offer better tq/traction balance than '08 CL65 will....we shall soon see....
Need to actually drive cars like 63/599/65, etc in various smooth/bumpy, straight-line/twisties and dry/wet settings to realize which cars offer best balance of steering/brakes/tq/traction/chassis damping, etc for one's local roads and specific uses of cars....paper (often smooth, dry track-based)comparos are often misleading and irrelevant to real-world roads w/imperfect pavement and occasional rain....

True...nothing like getting behind the wheel to know which one is right for you.
At least in south Florida, AMG Benzes are a dime a dozen, but a Maserati will still turn a few heads.

A guy up the block from me drives a newer Masserati, maybe a year or 2 old. When he drives it, the shift sounds like a clutch slipping.
It is different looking almost.
BTW
I thought Chrysler did do the Lebaron Masserati combination, in 85 or so. The car had a hardtop with a portal and I beleive there was some Masserati badging.

PS Aston Martin is the way different yet humble until you open it up.

Cl 600
I would do neither. While the Cl63 looks nice it is not as fast as the 600. I do not care what mercedes says torque is what moves heavy cars and the torque on the 63 is not even in the same league as the 600.
my 02cents
but i am biased I have an 07 Cl600
