Capitol Raceway in search of an 11 sec 1/4 mile.....
I took my CL600 the dragstrip for her first time ever to get some baseline runs in. I was only able to do 2 runs because it was getting crowded and my girlfriend was bored. My launch was a bit unorthodox, I "feared the wall" so I refused to run in dyno mode on radials until I get some sticky tires. Since this car hits so hard down low so I launched with ESP on do get the car out of the hole, as soon as the car lurches forward I turn the ESP off to allow for a little hazing of the tires coming out of first and on the 1-2 shift, I was able to modulate this perfectly on the second run. All I can say is Im awe of my cars performance, best run of the day 11.77 @ 122.13 MPH!!!
Now I need some drag radials to get my 60ft down and run this thing in pure dyno mode!

Nice run
You were actually stronger than the other car (11.17@118) from both the 1/8 mile and the 1000-foot.
Just show what sticky tires and a decent 60-foot can do.

thanks scott....the funny thing was they announced it as a CL500 at the tower, after my first run it got a little attention and a few actually knew what motor it had which was surprising.

Hi E55JAY:
How come I have that much slower time than you.
I had, just about, the same end speed. I made 12,46 @ 121,1 m/h (allthough with a co-pilot and at "stage 1").
Of course, I understand that my rear tires aren't that optimal (245/35-20), but can your 19" make up for allmost a hole second..?
I mean, you wrote that you also had a bad grip in 1st and 2nd gear.
I'm pretty new at this, but I do understand, that a second is a lifetime in this business...
What am I doin wrong here?
How much does the end speed increase, if I get a grip that takes me to mid 11's..?
And what tires would that require..?
I sooo wanna get there...
