Looks immense. I'd prefer it in gunmetal gray but that's just me.
I don't have the cash for one and won't for the significant future but the old- shape S65s are getting mighty tempting...

wow.......... when u look at them in the high definition.......wow. u really appreciate the details , like the chrome in the front airdam...... etc really nicely done. Price for CL65 is near $200K........ looks like the right price for it -but still - hitting a segment with much competition.
It's the little things that do so much. The chrome surround for the air dams make it that much more elegant.And it's probably just me, but this is one of the few Mercedes where a front plate doesn't ruin the front.

An SL65 is a many league higher class of car, and way faster and much more easily tunable. Chip that b***h and you'll smoke any M6 (smoking an RS4 will be laughably easy).
Actually, even stock an SL 65 will smoke an M6 and RS4.
And it's a retractable hard top!! And it looks a million times better, meaner, classier, superior.
And ofcourse the fit/finish/materials in an SL65 are far superior to the bimmer and audi. Just an all-around superior car. U could also get a used CL65 or S 65 for even much cheaper than an SL65

Actually, the alubeam paint will be available on 40 CL65's to be sold this year, but you are correct that the masses will not see this paint anytime soon.

That is correct, Benz will offer the Alubeam paint
It will be offered at first only on the 40 CL 65 special edition cars, then later on they will offer it as a special order paint job for other models.
As for the SL 65 vs. M6 issue, if you are a track day person than ofcourse go for the M car, but if not then the issue is moot. The SL 65 is still a superior car, but to each his own I suppose
Who knows, maybe Dinan or someone else might one day offer a supercharger upgrade for the M5/M6, which would be awesome.

The test made no sense at all, one of their dumbest moments ever and that says a lot. All the editors pics the SL65 and the SL65 creamed the M6 in every performance test except the slalom. The M6 winning is just plain retarded and flies in the face of everything they found.
The comparo should have had a SL55 with the 030 option anyway.

Heh. You forgot to mention that M6 "won" by the price which is one of dumbest statements I heared in long time.....I mean we talk about top cars in their class (which is different in this example) and lamin' about the price is totally stupid, I can't imagine somebody strugling with money and make plan how to survive on bread and water next 5 years just to cover sl65 hot ride

I am partial to 2 door Benz Coupes and i love the new body style but the tail and head lights bother me, they are way to round for the rest of the body, they should have thrown the S Class lights on the CL . . .
