Anyone live in Costa Mesa, CA that could look at a car for me?
I live in Fort Lauderdale, FL and I am looking at a CL65 in Costa Mesa, CA that I may want to purchase. Due to both job and new baby responsibilities (my wife would literally kill me) I can't make a trip over there to check the car out for myself. I will definitely get it inspected if I'm going to purchase it but I also trust my bretherin Mercedes enthusiasts on our forum to give me a real idea of the condition of the car. I know this is asking a lot so I totally understand if no one can do this but I thought I would ask. PM me if anyone may be able to do this and I'll give you the information on where the car is.

I live in Laguna Beach, California and I am 20 minutes to Costa Mesa. I would check out the car for you if you want. I recently sold a 2003 CL55 AMG to a car collector from LA. I am very familiar with the CL and am a real stickler for details. Let me know, I can even take pics for you and e-mail them back to you. If you decide on the car, I can refer you to a local Mercedes Master Mechanic that used to work on my CL and he might be able to do an inspection at the Mercedes dealership. He could probably get the Vehicle Master Inquiry from the Mercedes database to show where the car has been serviced and what kind of service/or issues it had. My phone number is 949-510-5917. Thank you for the response. I followed your thread while you were trying to sell your CL55. I'll give you a call tomorrow and tell you the details. It is extremely nice of you to offer and do this for me!! By the way, do you miss the CL55? Why did you get rid of it? I had an 03 CL55 and loved it but I hated the command navigation. My car had no options (keyless go, etc..) and I always wished it did. I got rid of it on swapalease.com and took virtually no loss since I leased it pre-owned and didn't put any money down. Talk to you soon.

Yes you can also use me. I work 5 minutes from Costa and own a modded CL65 and modded E55. Plus I know some hot spots in the car when driving to make sure the intercooler pump is behaving and working correctly.
The only problem I might have is heavy meetings this week. If you get me the vin I can get the history of logged service on the unit.

Here is the update. Gary (03CL55AMG) is trying to set up a meeting with the owner of the car for inspection. Hopefully it will be sometime this week and hopefully the car is clean. Vic55 is working on getting me the master inquiry to know what services the car has had. I will wait patiently (But I want a CL65 AMG NOW!!

Hi,
Gary (03CL55AMG) checked out the car for me and he was not very impressed in its condition. The car is advertised with 29K miles but it actually has almost 32K miles with various blemishes and scuff marks on the inside. It basically looked like a used car to him. Body was OK but did have minor paint irregularities in various places. To me this is not a car worth their bottom line of $85K so I will pass. Just wanted to update you guys. I'm not saying it is a bad car at all. I just don't think it is worth the money they are asking when there are enough of the CL65's out there in better condition for about the same money. As a matter of fact, if I wasn't hung up on the distronic then I have many better choices. Thank you all involved for the help and support. My quest continues.
