Lowering CL65 Thru Star Diagnostic
Has anyone lowered an ABC suspension thru the star diagnostic. I am told that doing it this way produces error codes. I only want the car a lower maybe an inch or less and am not very interested in a modual.

I just put the adjustable links on my car this morning.
It is very easy to install, no codes, no cutting and splicing wires. It works great! As a bonus, the guy (John) who makes these kits is very nice and willing to help with any details.
He is located in Vancouver, B.C. but there was no problem shipping to the states.

Found an interesting post in a thread on benzworld.org regarding procedure to lower via star and save the settings. Posted by.."The Workshop MB"
"when you change the settings, the angle voltages need to correspond with the actual angles of the suspension, (a screen on the SDS shows this). Your tech will need to set the vehicle to the angle you want, use the ROMESS gauge to read the suspension angles. Type the readings into the SDS screen and there you have it."

You have to get very familiar with the system to accomplish this. You'll have to find a willing mechanic with a SDS and patience for this type of thing. A brain with some level of activity would be helpfull as well.
It's not like you just press lower and store the settings. It takes a while to get it just so. You really have to know what to do and where to do it. Mercedes is not going to tell you in the workshop instruction.
Mines down right at an inch without any other mods. I have to take another pic as this one doesn't look too low in this one.

Unfortunately I don't, but if you look in the std. W220 subforum, there is a thread that has pictures of an S55 that a guy did with the links. It should still be on the first page.

As I understand it....airmatic uses air and ABC uses hydraulics. As a result cars with airmatic can be lowered via star up to 1" without any errors. While cars with ABC can only be lowered approx. 1/4" without producing error codes? Is this correct?

Thanks. I gave your (dealer) contact a call. He said he has lowered many cars but he did have some trouble lowering newer model ABC cars. He said that they dont really want to stay down like they used to. He said that MB has recognised that people are lowering thru star and have taken steps to stiffle this practice on newer vehciles. Not sure if my car falls ino that category or not so he asked me to drop the car off to him next week for a few days. I'll keep everyone posted on the results...Hopefully if it goes well and I have some pictures to post.
