It seemed like forever, but my CL63 finally arrived yesterday after a nearly 2 week extended stay at the Baltimore VPC. Obviously, I am taking it "easy" the first few miles, but It feels like Triple Crown winner Secretariat waiting to be let loose. The car is awesome and has greatly exceeded my initial expectaions. Besides that, the V8 exhaust burble is absolutely incredibile. Pictures to follow shortly.

Even without the flash, the interior looks gray, but it is VERY black.

The dynamic multi-contour seats with the active bolsters are a major hit.

Beautiful car, congrats. Does anyone know the descrptive difference between the wheels on this car and the wheels shown on the MBUSA website for the CL63(are they the same as the wheels on the MBZFAN55's avatar)?
Thanks

Thanks!

The wheels that came with the car are MB Factory Code 769. They are Style III, titanium silver paint finish. 8.5 X 20 ET 43 255/35 front and 9.5 X 20 275/35 rear. The avatar wheels are Style IV titanium gray paint finish, polished spokes, with the same size tires. They are also the same wheels currently on the MBUSA website. As I mentioned in another thread, I was initially expecting 19" as standard, and really didn't know what was on the car until it arrived. In person, these 20" wheels are very imposing and also very finely sculpted with a bit of a lip, which is something I like on this CL.

One Week Later........

Well, one week and 500 miles later, I am beginning to understand what WSH has been mentioning in his various posts about how different the CL63 is than anything else in the Mercedes large car lineup. Granted, I have been following the 1000 mile 4500 RPM / 85 MPH " break in guideline", so I still can't comment on the full throttle power, but I can tell you that the car is unlike any Mercedes product I have even driven. Obviously it's early to write a review, but some initial comments that you may find of interest:

As soon as time permits and I have a few "real" miles on the car, I'll post some additional pictures and comments.

Thanks again to all for your compliments and comments.

Good to hear you're enjoying your CL63

After about 1K mis on mine (and I drive all my new cars aggressively after first 200mis and after car is warmed-up), would certainly echo your positive impressions...simply is the best-balanced, most enjoyable car I've ever driven...

CL63's feeling of lightness/nimbleness/precision is simply amazing....clearly the work of latest-tech chassis hardware/software, superbly-adapted for real-world roads....CL63 weighs some 4600lbs and 599 weighs 4000lbs, yet each feels as light/nimble/precise as a 3100lb 997S, but offers far better chassis/steering damping and high-speed stability vs real-world bumpy, hilly roads/fwys (which may also have cross-wind issues)...conditions where some lighter, alleged sports cars just feel better suited for delivering their nimble feel on a smooth track w/o significant cross-winds, rather than in more variable real-world conditions....
