CL65 AMG 40th Anniversary Edition Details Released

The latest iteration of our flagship AMG V-12 coupe will launch with a special, limited-production CL65 AMG 40th Anniversary Edition.

As the most exclusive AMG vehicle yet imported into the United States, only 20 units will be offered for sales in this market from 40 units total Worldwide production.

This landmark vehicle commemorates the 40 year anniversary of AMG, founded in 1967. Based on the 2008 CL Coupe, the CL65 AMG 40th Anniversary Edition has all of the features that you would expect in a true performance GT.

Several unique features, specific to the 40th Anniversary Edition, underscore the exclusivity of this model.

• Liquid Metal Paint - Developed by AMG, and unique to this limited series, Liquid Metal paint reflects light more evenly and intensely than traditional paints due to its special micro paint particles measuring 50 nanometers which are four times smaller than traditional metallic paints.

• Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser Application

• 20 inch AMG Double Spoke Forged Aluminum Alloy Wheels with High Performance Tires

• AMG Exclusive Brown Premium Leather Upholstery with Diamond Patterned Stitching

• V12 Embossing on Front Headrests

• Carbon Fiber Interior Trim

• 40th Anniversary Edition Badging

The CL65 AMG 40th Anniversary Edition includes Night View Assist, Distronic PLUS, Keyless GO and Drive Dynamic Multi-contour Seats.

Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is $295,000.

Totally agree....

Actually would pay AMG $10K extra to get rid of the crass quilted leather pattern....and brown leather for an alleged perf car w/carbon-fiber interior/exterior trim??....to hide any stains from elderly buyers who will best appreciate that quilted nonsense...and a wood steering wheel, like S65????

Heard that MB already has some 80 new, unsold CL63s around US; and some 50 new, unsold '08 S65s.....hmm, smells like a high-end recession has already begun for any $150K+ car that depreciates, no matter how interesting to drive.....

Will be interesting to see if F's rumored Dino (at 5-10K/yr produc vols) will further destabilize pricing/lease terms/trade-in values of all $150K+ cars, esp in context of poss high-end recession in US.....
