SL is the exception as it is already dated and no longer "the car to have".
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Given how weak is mkt for new CL63s (and all high-end new cars ex-599/430)....would bet on interesting discts/2yr lease terms....and 50% MSRP trade-in value in one yr.....
Another risk is that AMG replaces the elderly, heavy 65 motor within next 12-18 mos w/a new, latest-tech V12.....

Bear in mind most guys that flip their cars every year or two, don't really pay for them--it's the company's car. That's part of their pay package.
The 65s with the high prices are not meant for the masses. Guys that don't measure up in their earning capacity take sloppy seconds as a pre owned.

Mark-ups (or: Market Adjustments) aren't meant to be an added gift to show off ('hey I can afford that car..') - they are meant to be paid (if ever) on cars that are difficult to get due to the current market situation.
You can get this car just like any other, with NO waiting list, so why the mark-up? Is there a mark-up on the current S or SL65? I don't think so. But why not? Aren't those cars that have potential customers that don't care about money, too, or are the S65 and SL65 'cars for the masses'? And what about company cars? Same applies as well: What makes the CL65 so special? The only reason for this specific mark-up is that it's a new model. No business-reasons or affordability-questions.
I was recently offered $15K off MSRP on a SL65. How can that be, on a car like that?

It's going to only get worse. Have you checked out the new Bentley Contintntal GT Speed? Bentley (er, VW) has taken an AMG approach to the big bruiser and upgraded the motor, suspension, brakes, rolling stock, interior, etc. It's every bit as fast as a CL 65 but looks better inside and out. And MSRP is comparable. Why own a Merc?

Gee, it's a wonder dealers are known as shmucks
