Amazing that someone would be so lazy as to auction off this car in the condition you describe, and take a huge hit as a result. It's not going to sell for $55k this time.

" The overall condition of the car is very impressive. The body and paint is All Original , free of any dents, scratches or parking lot door dings and the glossy top notch finish is just beautiful. Needless to say this fine car is free from any accidents. The vehicle is covered by Mercedes Full factory warranty until 11/29/2008 or 50k miles whichever comes first. Please look closely at the many detailed photos provided in this listing. I hope the pictures do this beauty justice! "
" This vehicle was previously repurchased under state buyback laws. I purchased this dream car from Mercedes Benz USA as a "manufacturer's buyback". The original owner of this Mercedes had brought the car to the local Mercedes Dealership for a warranty repair that is related to electrical engine concern, telephone, sound system, horn and water pump. The service department did not fix the problem within the specified time provided by law (possibly due to a part that was on backorder). Therefore the vehicle was purchased back or exchanged for new under the buyback program and later on all necessary repairs and adjustments have been made by Mercedes Benz. In other words-Mercedes buys the car back, completely fixes the problem then remarkets it as a Manufacturer's/lemon law Buy Back. This is a very common procedure that is being practiced daily by all car manufactures to promote customer satisfaction. Remember- The vehicle's full factory warranty is still in effect for the original four years and 50,000 miles, whichever comes first until NOVEMBER 29 of 2008 . "
I thought a Lemon Buy Back would not be covered under the warranty anymore. It says the paint and body is original and the car is accident free. Also, if it is bought at auction, how do they get all the little details to to give us such a wonderful recount of what happened to the car and the reason for the buy back.
Crappy *** MB quality, shi**Y dealers... etc all add up to poor resale values.
MB has to be the leader in depreciation...
When you buy a new benz you should get a three year supply of KY Jelly.

These cars are beggin' to be snatched up.
. I always browse the CLs on EBay and I also saw this car 2 hours before end of auction, called the salesman and he didn't want to talk much. Only would say that the car had no reserve and would sell to highest bidder. I almost bid on this car but felt spooked!!! Glad I didn't after reading this thread. If you can ****** up on a good one, this model would have to be the "used car of the century" as they've taken such hits from MSRP. I can distinctly remember looking at one 3 years ago in a San Francisco dealership while on vacation there and looking at the sticker. It was overly inflated due to its rarity and exclusivity at $225,000 !!!! (normal MSRP was around $190K). Some sucker I'm sure paid that much for it. Now 2 years later this car is , in some cases, $120-150K less. It depreciated by the amount that a brand new S63 cost.
