2003 Cl55 With Only 5k

The only hold up is the guy wants 53k and I offered 48k but the car is brand new (still smells like it) and I think I'll just pay the price for such a rare car.
What do you guys think?

Negotiate for every dollar, but if push comes to shove, grab it at his price.

Fantastic point. Come to think of it, I can't remember seeing a 90s model CL (SEC) in years. I don't even see them on MB lots!!!!

Depreciation-wise, I agree, it would probably cost $6-7K/year if he only holds it for three years. Of course, when you compare this to the hit you take buying one of these babies *new* and holding it for three years, roughly $50K or so, it doesn't look so bad!!
Now, keeping if for four years would make it a little more palatable, with a hit of around $22K, or $5.5K/yr.
That era for Benz was not great, in fact that particular car had just about the worst record in terms of reliablity, it almost sank Benzo.
For 55K, Id grab a M3 vert or a SMG 650i mint. For some reason I like used Bimmers and Audi's better than that Benz era. Too chunky, very dated electronics and unreliable.
Are you on crack Barolo?
The 215 is classic MB in a way that the 216 will never be!
Okay, there ... I feel better. Sorry.
PS. Good thing MB had Chrysler in those days or the balance sheet would have been hideous!
