My CL65 Brabus Upgrade
to answer all the Q's
kit cost 20,000 Euros that is an approximate $29,900 US
consistes of :
larger turbo chargers 3cm wider in diameter
full exhaust system with highflow cats
larger turbo piping for cooling
wiring harnesses for the engine
ECU upgrade , no upgrades for tranny ECU
Brabus stickers
as soon as it is done will take it against an SLR and will hopefully have a video to share soon
, If they are 3 CM bigger definitely can't be the k24's..
Do you know how much HP you are to expect from all this? Definitely keep us posted on this upgrade. Very nice..

Beautiful to see someone taking these cars to an even HIGHER level.
Some quick observations:
The turbine housings are integral with the exhaust manifolds. There are no pictures of larger turbine or compressor components so I am must guess that the upgrade is larger turbine HOUSINGS. Now, looking at the pictures of the manifolds/housings there are definite differences between the stock parts pictured and the upgraded parts. I do not know if Mercedes offered different parts or if Brabus is casting new ones but they are different.
Larger housings will flow more and allow more power to be created with otherwise stock turbos.

Post some pictures if you can and I would love to read a narrative in regards to the upgrades after the car has been transformed.
You are very fortunate my friend a 2008 CL65 AMG is very expensive and to have the upgrades that is truly a blessing.
Enjoy it in the best of health and do take care, traction is going to be

Good luck with the build...it looks like a fun project!!!
What are Brabus' thoughts on the transmission being able to handle the extra power (especially without a TCU upgrade)?
Tom
Of course that depends on whether or not the current Brabus configuration is causing a restriction or is outside of peak efficiency on either the turbines or the compressors. That said, going with a larger compressor and or turbine would increase the POTENTIAL output.
In searching for some pictures I came accross the pictures of the original S600 pictures from 2003. The following is a picture of the right side engine manifold.

Here is a picture of dbasons CL65 right side engine manifold.

Notice the expansion joint is after the last 2 exhaust ports.
Now, here is the right side engine Brabus manifold.

This tells me that Mercedes used the same basic design for both the 600s and the larger 65s. So, it is less likely that Brabus is using a modified Mercedes factory manifold leading more credibility to a Brabus specific component (expensive and nice).
There are other observable differences but the one noted above is pretty clear.
