Dealer CL65's...

The dealers all seem to around 80-90k for the CPO CL65's, I'm sure they didn't pay more than 60k, I would figure they would take anything in the 70's with no problem..... doesn't seem to be the case....

anyone with a CPO CL65 with 2 years+ left on the warranty looking to sell?

Your worst nightmare...
I am having a dealer go to the auction and buy me one with no stories and add CPO, this will all come out in the vecinity of 65K. Don't fall for what's out there...trust any edcated buyer will not buy it. They will get desperate eventually and sell pretty quick.

I am in the market for a white one, but I might as well start searching for a needle in a haystack if i want this. So stay strong, and make firm offers. All these cars are going for no more than 55-59K in the auction!

Here is the problem with most of the dealer cars...these cars have been sitting with them for months. They probably bought the cars at a much higher price than the current auction prices. They are reluctant to take the loss...which is ridiculous because it is only going to get worse.

That guy with the white CL that you sent me, I made him offer for 70K he says we are too far off in price, I think he wanted 88K. I showed him the auction prices and told him in 6 months you will be begiing me to buy it don't worry.

Isn't it CL65s, not CL65's? You know plural not possessive? I've always wondered this.

Holy cow! A punctuation **** and you leave the comma out of your sentence?

I wonder what I missed in my critique!

Patentmat...

i believe there are different punctuation standards one can use. i avoid the apostrophes but technically they are proper in common use.

referring to the "patent" in your name, are you in IP?

Hahaha I was only just wondering about it, not trying to be critical. I know I fly through what i type in the forums without slowing for commas etc. so I have no place to be critical. To answer the other question about IP, yes.

Back to Business....

What do you guys think about this CL....I know it has high mileage somewhere around 40K+ but man that price sure looks attractive I am sure I could get it for 56K or less...

I could tag an aftermarket warranty straight from MB for another 2K for a year..

To form the plural of an unpunctuated abbreviation, a number, or a letter used as a letter, you usually need to add an s. (Abbreviations of units of measure are exceptions: They are generally identical in their singular and plural forms.)

RSVPs
ps and qs
1980s

Use an apostrophe and an s, however, if an s alone could be confusing.

Confusing: ss
Better: s’s

Also use ’s to form the plural of an abbreviation that is punctuated with more than one period.

MIG:

The aftermarket warranty is one thing....but I would worry more about what maintenance items are imminent given the higher mileage.

Erroneous, and Encarta . . . thank you thank you. I first wondered about this years ago seeing the rack for "45's" at the gym. Sorry for the tangent everyone else, I will help bring it back on topic.

As for that CL65, I don't think mileage in the 40s is really all that high--Most of the depreciation has happened already, so unless something major goes, it seems to me like it is a good deal. The question though, is how likely is something major to go? I searched around on this once and even posted in regard to that $70k engine, but could not get much data.

I have thought about that....How many miles did you buy with? I know it was in high teens I think right? I think I will shoot for low 30's or High 20's. seems there is a huge price difference in those.

Hey Jodi,
I can tell you that when I was looking for my CL65, I came across a few that were in total crap condition. Many of these high mileage cars have paint work, interior rattles, and have been driven real hard. All I say is be careful, and inspect the car yourself. Also, make sure the aftermarket warranty is flawless. There are some good ones out there but also some real bad ones. No matter what, get an aftermarket warranty when you find the car you like and enjoy it. It is way more comfortable then your old E55.

I saw that car listed, and didn't bother going to see it, there has to be a story behind it...

I can vouch for france2112's car if anyone is looking for a CL65!

Thanks. sorry the warranty and price is an issue. I hope you find a nice one. Dealers suck. I sometimes wonder how they actually make money. They are all liars and I don't trust anything they say. Thanks again.

How about this one:

http://www.phxcars.com/?go=display&show=4323

I nearly purchased a black CL65 from them earlier this year. Not enough room in the back seat for two children, much less three, so I moved up to the S-Class. If the color of the above car is to your liking, it appears to be a pretty good deal.
