Black staggered 22's for sale... feeler
I am changing to another 22" wheel and maybe parting with my staggered Giovanna Cuomos in flat with polished lip...
To my knowledge these are the only style of wheels you can put on a AMG caliper and still get a huge rear lip due to the unique spoke design! The design also creates the illusion of a smaller wheel so the 22" doesnt seem to large (see pics).
https://mbworld.org/forums/cl55-amg-cl65-amg-cl63-amg-c215-c216/220744-new-pics-shoes-calipers-tint-lowering.html
Here are some pics on a CL but will fit S class as well.
PM me if interested.

You should probably inform yourself a bit better concerning what happens when you increase the size of your wheels. Newsflash! Your tire size decreases so the overall radius remains close. I dont think gear ratios are affected even a little bit.
In terms of performance, I dont track my CL...Does anyone here track theres? That would be the only issue I could possibly think of where the size of the wheels could come into play. This car is a GT performance cruiser. There are no immediate plans for me to do any roadracing anytime soon.
I have never encountered a situation where my "performance was killed" even a little.
Now if your rant was related to potholes, curb rash or the like, then I would have to agree. Those are relavent issues.

Bro you need a lesson:
Heavier/bigger wheels = less perf, esp. 22"s another thing called UN-SPRUNG WEIGHTthose 22"s weigh a ton, ever heard of it

You deff change/retard GEAR RATIO! for the worse, I've talked to multiple tuners on this very subject...
Lower profile tires make traction nearly impossible, besides pot holes/curb damage (nearly NO side wall, make your tires like rubber bands),

You really need to do some research before you spout off bro.

I've done DYNO testing, lost 25rwhp from just changing 18" to 20" (yeah lower profile tires were put on the 20"s) peace out! know it all....![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

22"s just don't belong on a high performance car. You got it to cruise and not to drive. Fair enough but Thericker just owned you

i don't think he was 'owned', when he himself just said he doesn't race it or anything, he just cruises in it. obviously the wheels are for looks alone, he's not concerned with performance. not everyone lives to post kill stories.

can you read? I gave him compliments, left & right... I've weighed 18"-19"-20"-22" they can weigh up to 10lb more PER WHEEL than 18"-19"s UN-SPRUNG WEIGHT can = HUGE gain when running lighter wheels.
chill out guy...
a PERF vehicle like AMG 63 esp w/030 pack, is a huge step backwards w/22"s it's like putting PERF wheel/tire combo on a Tractor
, or throwing 22"s on a Ferrari? yes it an look kool on Ferrari, but deff killing PERF! do you get it now?![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)

As I said earlier, the issue of unsprung weight is irrelevant to 99% of the people that drive CL's; you have a technical point, just not a practical one. Unsprung weight relates to racing my friend.
It's the same argument as a spoiler lip. Do you actually beleive anyone with a CL drives their car hard enough to appreciate the benefits? It's a matter of aethetics, plain and simple.
I still have a set of OEM wheels to bring it back to stock if need be. I simply havnt felt a particular burning desire to go back to stock due to a glaring performance decrease that I noticed after the switch.
Newsflash...A few people that drive Range Rovers don't go off roading either.

Jeez you just can't seem to pry that big foot out of your mouth
Now you admit I'm right....
But you still negate perf loss
25+rwhp is noticeable not including gear retarding, I'll bet you $1,000.00 bux Your 0-60 mph etc.. is a lot slower w/22"s end of story...And if you're so uninterested in perf?

Why spring for the extra 030 package? NO WAY IN HELL are you ever hitting 186mph or 0-60 in 4.5
w/fat 22" son....
Un-sprung weight does not only effect road racing i.e. twisties
just drop it guy, 22"s are for looks ONLY.....Unless your a huge "Rob & Big" fan? 22"s son 22"s lol...

And of course some people do drive their big heavy CL AMGs at more than 35mph. I certainly do so in my big heavy S.

No it's nothing to do with driving "hard". OEM spoiler lips have a huge bearing on downforce when "enjoying" an empty hwy. There's no point having 500 or 600bhp if one doesn't occasionally experience the pick up from 120+. No one was attacking your wheels just saying that these 22"s render the 030 option redundant.
