Last I checked that aint no Caddy. White walls, come on? The red lip effect from Japanese tuner cars has already made its way into the German car would, imo, unsuccessfully. Also, what is that... a low supra style spoiler on the rear? Damn. ANNNND who in their right mind paints those beautiful new 63 brake calipers some obnoxious red color?? Buy a set of brembo's if you want red brakes. Cars like this remind me of those DUB cartoon pictures of german cars overdone in Japanese tuner style fashion. IMO save that stuff tuned Japanese rockets not Mercedes.

"obnoxious red calipers" That would deem about half the cars on the market over $100K obnoxious.
As I said its PS, a straight on look you dont see the three dimension and i could appear like a "whitewall" but when you look at the yellow Porsche, at any angle you lose the whitewall look entirely.

coded lips are nothing new or ricey
its the look...you gotta keep up.
There was no law stating that lips of wheels have to be chrome or silver.
My car will be de chromed and de silvered (black white theme) I have two options,white or black lips.
You guys gotta learn to let go of what builders and tuners force feed you.

Call me crazy but I like it. I would by no means consider myself a fan of painted wheels but the look of just the lip is a nice change. The black lip does nothing for me but that baby blue, now that is nice. The CL looks nice IMO.

Mercedes owners seem to be the most conservative crowd i have ever encountered.
Its like sacreligious to do anything that Hanz and Franz didnt think of first. And the most amazing thing to remember is that that Mercedes also has to appeal to the retired crowd, therefore, as compared to BMW, Audi, Aston etc have got to be the most conservative car company of the face of the globe as to not lose their core base. But, hey let Mercedes introduce the black series with all its wings, cuts and carbon fiber and the Mercedes crowd goes wild. Let anyone else mod their merc for track or performance and then the same crowd calls their ideas ricey.
And no I dont think youre crazy, because in fact....color coded wheel lips look fantastic. If one could just take a step back and ask themselves..."hey, why do wheel lips need to be chrome anyways? Cause thats all ive seen in the past 30 years?"
Adding a chrome lip to a car is far more gaudy then matching the color to the car itself. Theres no two ways about this.

that was the only reason I criticized your 22's in the past son
if they didn't kill perf I'd be rollin' at least 20's right now, look wise I think your ride looks great.My C6 had all blk wheels w/red calipers, I'm going to do the exact same w/my sl600 tt

Like I said if you're doing the entire rim not just a stripe, I think it'll look good

It's actually growing on me...or its really late. I still wouldn't do it but it's your car and do whatever makes you happy. Reminds of a OG look from the 1950's or wearing a suit with some patent leather black and white wingtips...
