Hi,
Car has 20K miles and I think it's time to change the air filters. Any recommendations over the stock ones? I saw an old thread from Eurolites that they sell filters for the 600 and 65. Are these better then stock? K&N does not make filters for my car unfortunately. Any advice would be appreciated.

I just bought BMC air filters that are made for the V12TT engines. They cost $90 each from The Competitive Edge pretty much the only US distributor for MB BMC filters (all the other distibutors are motorcycle or Porsche only). I highly recommend them...excellent customer service... 805-237-8911. I have no financial interest in this company...just glad to recommend good business people.

How about ITG (foam) filters?
Anyone have a lead on them?

When I had my C43, I had excellent results with Green Filters. See if they make them for your car, just have to make sure they don't melt I believe some people had melting issues on CL600's. Love the sig by the way, I'm a big fan of Rush.

The last time I looked a couple of weeks ago BMC was the only filter (none for ITG, Green or K&N) for the TT V-12.

BMC filters are definitely better but check that your dealer won't flag your car as modded. Sounds crazy but things like that can happen...

Appreciate the input and looking up the filters for me. They are on backorder. Al least I know how marked up they are now. My dealer sells them for $90.00 for the pair.

Larry,

Brooks is right. I highly recommend the ECU and Airbox. Or ECU only if you want try one step at a time. Night and day difference.

Check your PM.

Thanks. I'm still lurking on the forum as usual. Planning on doing an ECU upgrade to my car soon. I'll fill you in on the before and after dyno. Hope all is well with you.

That's a great question. I've been back and forth on my decision but I most likely will go with RennTech. I live only 45 minutes from them and I am told they are now doing custom tunning while the car is on the dyno rather then a general flash tune as in the past. I'm sure the non dyno tunes are great also but since I live so close I would be a fool not to take advantage of that. Hartmut, the owner, is a real nice guy and is truly the authority on AMG in the USA or Germany for that matter.

Thanks for the link. I don't think I'll take the rain things off just in case but the BMC filters definitely look less restrictive then the stock ones.

I took my rain deflectors off months ago and haven't seen any difference.
Of course, who knows better about air flow, me ... or those dummy AMG engine guys?
