Thanks for any comments.
But 03 CL55 is a 30-40k car.
The car can cost you 3 to 5k overnight for airmatic suspension issues ... in addition to the other more traditional driveline problems encountered in any make.
The engine is pretty bullet proof, but I wouldn't buy it on a shoestring because it could strangle your wallet.
Ebay is a good indicator of where pricing might be and remember that it's a really slow market for these cars so hold out for your price.
It looks like you can pick these cars up for nothing. Im shocked....with an original sticker price of well over $100K 5 years later its the same price of a new Jeep Wrangler...lol. Who in the right mind (other than leasing one) would buy one of these new....I guess somebody really rich that could care less about depreciation...lol....oh well still searching for the one if anybody knows where I could get a really good deal on a 03 CL55 let me know... I decided 01-02 is not worth the headaches plus a lot less HP.
Thanks for the comments guys I will keep them close as I continue to search.

I would make sure the car is certified and has been serviced regularly at an MB dealership. I have been in the car industry for quite some time and I can honestly tell you that you will get what you pay for. Especially when it comes to buying a 55. The 03's have typically had less issues than 00-02. Have you looked at any of the cars in the price range you specified in person? Check for paint and body work. Pull a carfax. You might think you are getting a really good deal and then end up with a headache. Someone on this board has had nothing but problems with one that was recently purchased. You may want to talk to him. I forget his name.. It's a black CL with chrome rims in his avatar. What state are you shopping in?
