Badges all gone. I actually like the clean look and also that unless you know cars, you think it is just a standard CL.

I plan to remove the V8 Kompressor badge and maybe the rear CL55 and AMG badges as well for a cleaner and stealthier look. Slightly OT, but...What other than 996 Twin Turbos, tricked out Supra Turbos, Z06's, 360 Modenas, well driven M5's and Vipers will outrun the new CL55 from 0 to 100 mph? Additionally, there are clearly some riced out, nitros jobs and Lambos that will be way faster in the quarter mile, but what are we likely to see that will be a real challenge?

M5 ,unless modified will not out run you,Viper will spin off the road before it catches you,Z06,Modena and riced Supra would have to be driven by a real Pro to catch you with all the electronic helpers you have.
Only 996 tt is a real threat in the real world.

Debadge it and start blowing away unsuspecting people looking to race a slick new benz like yours. Without question the CL55 is the quickest luxury coupe available today, enjoy it!

Careful of racing the late 80's darth vader-mobile: Buick Grand National, I drive mine mainly on weekends around southern cal. letting just about any modified Porsche Turbo, Supra, AMG Benz, Ferrari, BMW M-series, etc. why American big iron is hard to beat in flat out street racing. 11.1 sec. 1/4 mile @ 120 mph, on street tires. Baer brakes stop the car before the cops do.

Your Buick Grand National is fast indeed. How is yours modified? Also, have you seen any 1/4 mile times and trap speeds for the 03 CL55? I've got to believe that from about 20 to 30mph up the CL55 will be awesome.

Thanks! I am a huge fan of comfortable and fast cars. The CL55 is one of my favorites, as any car with over 400 hp to the real wheels kicks ***.

This brings up my question: Has anyone taken their CL55 or S55 to get dyno tested? I would bet that MB under rated the motor to please the lawyers.

My Buick has an Art Carr tranny, Garrett TA49 turbo, Aluminum heads, spearco intercooler, baer 13" 6 piston brakes, and a few other tricks my engine builder included. The car may be made with some (all) cheap plastic interior parts, but the way it drives is unreal.


('03 S55 Designo edition on order at Fletcher Jones MB) S420 pictured FS in about 2-3 months.
