Actually, would argue many costly cars like Rolls, Lambo, etc merely advertise lack of significant net worth and/or ability to read/count...

Most of the hedge fund/pvt equity billionaires in Manhattan are driven around in scuffed-up blk S550s...

Many of the somewhat literate/numerate wealthy in BeverlyHills drive nondescript blk/blk or slvr/blk, new 65s w/zero aftermkt nonsense....

I somewhat agree on that. Most folks that really have money, don't drive those types of cars.

'22 Alpina B7,'21 G63 Renntech obviously (wife), Wrangler(kids)
There are no "cheap" subsidized leases on these cars(hard to be a pretender at $400-500k prices),average net worth of typical owners is in excess of $30mln (not including primary residence),so they are not really that poor.
Those guys driven in S550/600/65s to work ,have at least 5-6 other cars in their garages, very often Phantoms,Lambos, etc.
MB is to them just another daily appliance....
