People have had lots of problems with the suspension, which can be 3-4K if it goes. Engine is excellent, I don't recall any transmission issues. Given the amount of electronics you may occasionally have gremlins pop up. Even mine once randomly had a window decide it was not going to work properly, but then it fixed itself, who knows? I am up to 76,000 miles on mine and could not be happier. I bought it with 55K about two years ago, and I am still in love with the sound of that V8 engine.

thanks for the help bud, getting an extended warranty for it, but still want to learn more. I will do most of the maintenance my self, and look forward to taking it apart and learning how it works. I have had several supercharged vehicles, roots stile and twin screw superchargers. do you know who makes the supercharger on these?

Hi Danny,
I echo Patentmat - the suspension / arms linked to the suspension have had problems. I got mine at 47K miles and luckily, it still had a MB warranty on it. I renewed this each year for £1500. In the first year there was circa £4,000 worth of warranty work. In the second year - so far - there's been over £1,000 worth of work - (oil leaks, seals etc).
If I can dig out my invoices - I'll let you know exactly what was replaced. Overall though - the engine has been fine (so far !)

i didnt get the cl55 because of all the negative feedback i got from you guys and a couple mechanics. I bought a BMW M3, it doesnt pull like the benz but its fun. I might pull out the stock internals and put in forged parts for a custom turbo kit.

I would of bought a CL55
M3's are mass produced and are everywhere....only a few thousand cl55's were made in a 4 year span....
and you could get a warranty on a cl55 for $2k easy
