These videos were done with a tuned (540rwhp with 91 octane gas) 2006 (W215) CL65 and a stock CLS55. The W216 (2008-Present) is a little heavier, but I think the newer body style has better cooling ability due to the larger front radiator opening. This should give you some idea of the fun to be had with your new toy.

55 engine torque: 369 ft-lbs at 1,500 rpm; 479 at 2,000 rpm
65 engine torque: 612 ft-lbs at 1,500 rpm; 738 at 2,000 rpm
It's the amazing torque at low revs that defines the unique driving experience. The 65 engine puts out 420 ft-lbs at 1,000 rpm! That's just off idle.

I'm sure that I will be giving up some road handling but the passing power will be worth the trade off.
