The SLR should way 0.5 tons less than the CL. I'll wait and see if they decide to bump up these HP numbers again for the SLR. I really doubt they want the power numbers to be beaten by a car from the same family that comes in at half the price.

According to Autocar today, Mercedes has confirmed the CL65 has 612 bhp and an "Enzo-trouncing" 738lb ft of torque! 0-62 mph in 4.5 secs, so possibly 0 - 60 in 4.2 in tests.

2003 SL55 at VPC I do not even have the car yet and now I know the SL55 crusher is in pipeline.
O well I have to stop at some point and be happy!
It is really kool that MB and AMG are going insane, the other MFGs like BMW must be dazzed & confused at this news!

Sorry guys, I wouldn't hold out for the CL65. Get the CL55. If you find that you are having problems slotting into that hole in traffic with only 490+HP you can always call Kleeman.

Silently AMG has replaced on their Specials-Website the CL 63 with the CL 65
By the time you take delivery of the 65, they'll probably announce the CL 73 or give the whole CL range a facelift.
Makes one really think about ordering a Bentley Arnage T and you get a truly great car that won't be replaced next Tuesday.
Have seen a new, outgoing CL 63 (still a decent model) with a 30% discount @ a German Dealer - for those who are intrested :
