Boy am I Confused

So here's the confusion;

Took my 02 CL55 AMG in to the dealer to get it signed off for the extended warranty I bought from Zeigler.....here's what happened.

According to the dealer there was a factory recall on the instrument cluster in my car and they replaced it at no cost. Now I seem to not be able to program back in some of the features of the car such as folding the mirrors when locking the doors......the menu is just not there and now they don't fold...and they did when I brought the car in. I'm sure it's something that just needs to be programmed but the menus don't seem to be where they say they should be in the owners manual.

Could this be part of the programming of the new instrument cluster or am I just missing something?.....pretty bad when you can;t figure it out even when I read the manual

I sure would appreciate any insight for anyone that could help.

Cheers!

Have you presented the car back to the dealer and told them?

It will need to be re-programmed by the dealer.

I cant help but notice that you own a plane and a nice boat !

Why didn't you go with the 500 HP CL55?

Good question..............Because they don't give tickets for going too fast in Boats or Planes

I get my fill 3-4 times a year on the Autobahn when I'm in Germany where you don't have to worry about going too fast (in the right places at least) and people around you actually know how to get out of your way

update from Dealer
Called and talked to them yesterday and YES they did not properly reprogram the instrument cluster and I need to bring the car back in to have them reprogram the cluster. They said that the new cluster was a "Universal unit" and apparently all of the options were not re-programed!!!

It's enough to make you scream.......too bad that these guys (who charge $135 an hour BTW) could obviously care less about quality and customer service

Finally had time to get the car back into the dealership yesterday for the necessary programming on the replacement cluster....which I found out is under warranty for 10 years from the original in service date BTW.

Everything now works except the ability to choose to reset or keep the previous days numbers on the Start option. Before replacement the cluster would blink and give me the option to reset or keep the since start numbers within a given day....but now no such option. I asked the SA and he took the easy way out by saying "It must be not available with the updated cluster"....the tech was with him and of course confirmed.....anybody know if this is true or just an easy answer??

Thanks!

two years ago I has my CL 55 instrument cluster replaced under warranty too but luck for you, you got your car back within day. When I got my car back, I noticed that my odometer mileages showed about 25K miles less then orignal. The dealer asked me to bring it in to reprogram the mileages and they told me it will take about 30 mins. They end up keep mine car for more then a week because they said the only way to add another 25K miles to the odometer is to have the car ignition on 24/7 with their computer hook up to simulate the car running at 150 mph 24/7 so the mileages would run up. That just sound stupid to me but what can I do.
