GOOD PRICE FOR A 2008 CL63 WITH LESS THAN 500 MILES
I am considering buying a 2008 CL 63 from a dealer with less than 500 miles. What is a good price to offer for the vehicle? It has a "new" window sticker of $145,000. I want to offer a fair price, but I certainly do not want to overpay.

Do a search for a forum member named Retardedmunk. I know it is crazy screen name. Anyway, he is a broker and goes to the florida auctions on a regular basis. He will find you a low mileage CL63 in good condition for the 80'sK. This is what I would do. Good luck.

Consider revised-tech/facelifted S Coupe will prob arrive within 6 mos or so....and rumors are 63 motor will be superseded by a new 5.5 TT V8 motor (and presumably a new gearbox to handle the ?>600lb-ft tq)
Suspect anyone who considers the tech timeline would heavily discount an obsolete, used CL63...

Thanks
Thanks.
This car is going for low 80's at auction with 16K miles. My advice is to forget buying a new car and go low mileage used. Most of these cars are in great condition and you will save a lot of $$$$. If you have to have a new one then I would suggest starting at low 90's at most. This car is almost 3 years old. Remember these cars come out July 2007. Has it been titled already? If it has then you should get a huge discount considering the warranty has already started.

2008 MBZ CLK63 AMG Black Series
My local MB dealer has cars of this price range out front with $25000 off stickers on them... and I assume those vehicles are MY2009, so I would ask at least $30k off MSRP.
Or like the others said, get a used one if you want to save the most $$.
I can't believe they have a 2008 still on their lot. Did they have it sitting in the back of the warehouse and forgot about it or what?!

I think they just had a hard time selling the vehicle because of their location and the fact that they, like most dealers, have not gotten the message that the market has changed. Up until recently they were still trying to get close to what sticker was on the vehicle.

No matter what you pay for this car the bottom line is that the minute it is sold and you drive it over the curb IT IS A USED CAR and will be only the same as a comparable 2008 model in the marketplace (albeit with lower miles).
I say this only because you should keep this in the forefront of your thoughts if you decide to negotiate a deal with the dealership in question.
If you were willing to pay what you would pay for the same used car on their lot.....only adjusted for mileage then I would say it is a good deal if not and you feel that a premium is included in the price for the fact that this car has never been sold before then I think not.
Some perspective from my misspent youth in the car business where we always said "They are all used cars the minute they go over the curb"
Best of luck in whatever decision you make.

If this deal doesn't happen you will certainly find another somewhere else! .....I find the people who what a deal the most.....are the ones that usually come out on the short end of a negotiation......meaning stay unemotional and you will likely get what YOU want. Don't get caught up in "Making a deal"

Realistically, you can get low mileage 2009's in the 90's - 100's. I would not offer them anything over 95. I drive a 2009 so I keep a close watch on the market just to see how much money I am losing even though I had the deal of a lifetime on my '09. Haha. What dealership is this? Sorry if I missed it.

10 years from now when Barrett Jackson has a 2008 CL63 with only 500 miles, it might command a premium price. Today, it is a 3 year old car about to be be rebadged as the S-Coupe and soon to have a rumored turbo engine replacement. 500 miles is a very minor plus in this scenario and any price premium should be minimal at best.

06 CLS55 AMG & 08 CL65 Mystic White
Early last year I bought a brand new 08 CL65 Designo (MSRP 215K) for 150K.
Offer them 90K for CL63 and walk if they don't take it. There are plenty of dealerships out there that will.
