Better to sell off upgraded wheels alone or on the car?
Finally taking the plunge and upgrading again beyond my 2004 CL55. I have huge Brabus Monoblock VI wheels on it shod in the widest rubber on any CL. Considering the tires are one month old Pirelli PZero Nero's I gotta figure the wheels/tires are still worth around $3000. As a general rule, would I be financially better off selling them on the car as a "package" (car is lowered, resonator removed, 10K+ in designo upgrades) or would I be better off just selling the big Brabus wheels on the side and putting the car back to stock? Either way involves a little work but I am ready to get the ball rolling.

I really don't want to take the tire pressure sensors out of those wheels, so for now they go with the car, which I just put up for sale in the proper forum. If anyone has any advice on the most lucrative way for me to handle selling the car plus 8 wheels (4 Brabus, 4 stock AMG wheels) I am still interested to hear it. Thanks,

Put the old AMGs back on and sell the Brabus' on eBay. Nobody will pay a premium for your car just because it has aftermarket wheels. You will probably get $1000+ more $$$ this way.
I sold a 2002 BMW M3 with almost new CSL wheels and tires and still got way less than the car itself was worth before the econony went south.

Very good advice, thanks. I think I will do that. Checked around and those huge Monoblock Vis are worth quite a bit. Gotta get the old wheels out of the basement and suited up. Brabus rims are now for sale in the classified section, car has been discounted down accordingly.

Thanks guys. Now if only someone who really WANTED the car would come along and love the color combo. I don't mind though, I have a renewed interest in the car now that it is all clean and ready for the sale. Funny how that happens. btw, it turns out 2 of the stock chrome wheels were cracked, so i am just going to leave the Brabus on for the sale.
About that color, it is called designo-cashmere. I have only seen one other with it, and it was a CL65. The color sort of changes on you, here an exemplary pic
