Radio, Nav, wont turn on

I've had this same problem for a few weeks, still no soln.
Mine will power on when car turns on, display the emblem, boots up then displays "System Unavailable" and power off. No radio, nav, sat working.
I have emailed radioman repair and they can fix certain units. Haven't had the time yet.

weird mine is doing the same thing.. did they say what the problem is? why all of a sudden are we all having this problem.. i searched on here forever and havent found much on it now all of a sudden there's 3 of us in a matter of 2 weeks witht the same problem.

I know what you mean, I've also looked around. Seems the guys over the pond have more knowledge in retrofitting and trouble shooting it, but no luck.
I've hooked up to SDS and is shows an open MOST ring and does not recognize any of the components (nav, sat, etc). Then we dug into the back of the head unit from the vent/speaker thing in the center of the dash. There is no optical output from my unit.
Any ideas on how to pull out the unit? I'm okay with sending it to radioman.

Radio man charges alot for the radio. Have u asked them a price to rebuild it thinks it was around 800-1000. I have a company who charge 100-200 to rebuild the head unit. Who checked out the unit for u? Is there a way I can check to see what codes I have without going to the dealer?

I had a local shop in LA look into it, Benz n Beamers.
I was able to get the codes via a simple SDS scan. You should be able to pull that from a friendly service writer or 1 hr diag.
I haven't gotten pricing, as they need the barcode info from the bottom of the head unit. Still trying to figure how the whole thing comes apart.

Any luck getting your command fixed?? I'm still driving down the road with nothing lol. I'm bringing it in the shop this weekend to deal with this nonsense I can't take I anymore!!

CD Player/ AMP and optics for sale
If you guys are having trouble with the CD changer, AMPs or optics I have one in excellent condition for sale. It even has the bracket that holds both Amps and CD player. If interested shoot me a reasonable offer and we will go from there. Good Luck.

I had mine looked at and it's the audio gateway unit I believe that's what's it's called. It's next to the Bose amp. We tried one he ha laying around and it worked instantly. Now I need to get one does anyone have one for sale??

Can anyone confirm that the optical signal starts at the Command head unit? During diag I was told there was no light/signal output.
Just wondering before I trying repairing or buying a ebay unit for testing.

It is the audio gateway. The head unit sends the signal back through the trunk. Now my problem is finding one to buy. I called Mercedes and to gt a tefurb wholesale it's $129 which is a great price but they said it's for a 04 and under. It makes no sense to me why it wouldn't work espically when I tried one from another car. Does anyone know if there is a difference between the -04& 05-06 since they supposably don't make a refurb for a 05-06 unit.

My issue has been resolved, it was the Audio Gateway. Cost $250 @ dealer w. core charge.

I have the problems. Replaced audio gateway that i got from the dealer. Worked for few hours and same thing again. I guess it is the head unit. Any ideas?
