CL55 vs CL600
I am new here and just joined as I am now looking to own a MB. I am looking for a CL series and want either a CL600 or a CL55 as I can not afford a CL65.
Between the CL55 and CL600, which one is your preferences to own and why?
I also have this thread in the non-AMG forum as it involves both cars. I hope that was appropriate to do.
Thank you so much.

To address your questions, yes, I am looking for a 2003-2006 model. I typically like to buy the best example avaliable and right now what that means is a roughly 10K mile car as finding one with less miles than that is proving difficult. In that mileage range, I have located a CL600 for about $30,000, and CL55 for about $35,000, and a CL65 for about $60,000. See the big diference? I can buy a lot of maintenance for that. Yes, I do plan on buying a warranty with whatever I buy.
Thank you.

You should be able to get a tip top CL65 with reasonable mileage for $40k and get some change.
It is. It has about 8,000 miles on it and is absolutely a new car. I wish I could afford it.

I debated between an S600 and a S65 for a while and for me it wasn't worth the extra outlay and effort required to find a 65.

I let my second to last s65 sit for 3 weeks...took it out for a ride...bam..a coil pack went bad as well as the center ignition module...before that..driving the car daily ...i had zero issues..

My family had a low mileage SL600. Granted there was nothing mechanically wrong with it, but the tires did develop flat spots. That's another thing to consider (for the average Joe...which I'm assuming you are if you're shopping for a 4+ year old car). Do you want to spend $1k+ on tires and other items that might be an issue because the car was rarely driven? Personally, I don't like the idea of having to dump money into a car that I just picked up. Just my $.02...
