Well, after researching extended warranties / service contracts, it appears two have a pretty high ranking, Mercury and EasyCare. (2005 CL65 30K)

However, Mercury wouldn't touch the CL65 - "too expensive to repair". Set the wheels in motion with EasyCare - bumper to bumper, except consumables. 24mo / 24k plan with $250 deductible was $4775. Transferable and prorated if canceled. I talked to two dealers who were happy with the plan and said "no problems"

Had an inspector come out to review the car. Only one issue - the sunroof would drag slightly and not close. He was more thorough than the MBZ dealer that did a complete inspection ($220) and missed the sunroof issue. He was pretty knowledgeable on the AMG, and reviewed the problem areas.

Any comments from members on Easy Care?

Too bad the Chrysler warranties, much revered by the W220 and W215 owners round here, no longer cover these vehicles. The 5yr/70,000 mile plan I got for my S600 (sure the 65 is more complex) was $3200 with $200 deductible.

You had the cream of the crop. Most I found were scams, or excluded virtually everything that could break. The dealers were very supportive of these two.

I keep rolling the dice with no warranty. I Will let you know when and if I come up with craps and how much it cost. I have been keeping a close eye on the hardware of the car. I just don't like what I hear with these warranties.$3500,$4000,$4500 etc. and some of you say you have a hard time with the warrenty companies.It sounds like the chrysler warranty was the one to get.My 2005 cl55 has 62000 miles on it so it is due for new plugs. If I don't do them and take it to the local mercedes dealer I want to ask if they can see any problems down the road,But that is like saying I have money for you to take please find somthing wrong. Any advice for a owner with champane taste on a blue collar paycheck.Yes I know I should not get a car I can't afford. I will be able to fix anything wrong with the car I will just have to save for it. I just turned 52 and if I didn't do it now it would never happen. Also I did the brakes and saved a bundle.

For me the warranty is peace of mind. I can afford the costs of the repairs involved with a W220, I just like knowing if I wake up in the morning and the **** has fallen out of the car that it's just going to cost me $200 to sort out.

you can still get the Chrysler warranties but not 7 years/100,000 miles, i just got a 5year/70,000 2 week ago for my 05' cl55 with 39,000 mile on it.

Anybody has experience with Carchex? They are around $5200-6000 for 5YR/75000 for 2007 E63.

I don't have warranty advice for you but I did want to just say GOOD FOR YOU!!! More people should enjoy life & get their dream cars. Enjoy every single second driving it & never look back on the purchase. Congrats

BTW the only advice I CAN offer from experience is to get to know your local service manager. Tip him and tell him you will give him & his shop your business when the time comes if they take care of you and treat you well (ie no excessive repairs that aren't needed, good pricing, provide a loaner car, etc). There are many indy shops that are capable of doing great work for less but factory service is always preferred. If you can get in with your service adviser you'll minimize the hurting when repair bills come. At 60K+ miles on a CL55 you may soon be looking at a tune up w/plugs, compressor pump, belts, etc.

why? I had a s55 2004 with 131k miles...I put $450 into ..oil change..tranny fluid change..new filters...and a motor mount....

I had the car for 5 months...drove it 7k miles...previous repairs were 4 in 6 years....nothing expensive....

drive the car more..have less issues....trust me

Also thanks for the tips "Mugatu22" My friend just told me about his friend who has a mercedes shop,so it looks like I am going to make a new friend. Hopefully it works out. Do all shops honor the warranties or is it a crap shoot?

Well, just signed up for the Chrysler Service Contract - 5yr/70k - $5k. Chrysler does still write the policy - but on a case by case basis, submitted to underwriting for approval.

Well, the Chrysler warranty plan gets more interesting...
Seems Chrysler doesn't have an actual Service Contract to issue. I did receive a written approval from Chrysler Service Plans for my CL65, but the issuing dealer (Michael Noyes) and Chrysler say there is no printed or electronic version to give the customer. Yes, I did call Chrysler direct, and was informed this is true. "Expect a printed copy in 3 to 4 weeks." Seems Chrysler is quick to take the application, charge the credit card, and then do the "two-step" when asked for the actual contract. I was informed the contract has changed from past versions - interesting. How can you have a contract when the contract doesn't exist?

This the same thing that happen when I purchased one back in May for 2005 S600. I got approval than I received a hard copy in a few weeks. You can also access your contract online pior to getting it in the mail. You should be fine.

That was the interesting part. The online version is not available - the site is being reworked and has been down for 3 weeks, and expected to be down for 2-3 more weeks. No electronic version and Chrysler doesn't have a hard copy (template) either. Seems the contract just doesn't exist. Interesting way for a big-3 three automaker to do business. "Imagine you have a contract..."

I just picked up a 03' CL55 with just shy of 80K miles and the car is in, as far as i can tell, near perfect condition

the only thing that seems to have gone out is the AC compressor but i had the refrigerant recharged and am going to have my tech reset the climate control computer and see if it works before i go replace the compressor

do warranties on an AMG with 80K miles exist? i would like to get one for piece of mind as well

Just got a quote from MBZ Laguna Niguel for a 4 year at around $4,800 and if the car is over 80K miles they only do up to a 2 year witch is around $4,000

I am waiting for them to send me the specifics of the service contract and i am also waiting to hear back from MBZ of Beverly Hills and see what they can offer and i called Chrysler but they told me they would not do an AMG with close to 80K miles

Any update on this? I just spoke to him and my car seems to be eligable, but I dont wanna fork out 5k to someone Ive never even met.

Well, I reached a dead end. I expect a printed copy (of what, I don't know) in 2-3 weeks. I did put it on an Am-Ex so I can dispute it, and talked to a Manager at Chrysler, who assured me that if I wasn't satisfied, I can cancel anytime in 60 days. I this day and age, everything is a fight, so I am not real optimistic.

I did get an acceptance confirmation from Chrysler.
I called Chrysler and they confirmed I have the contract.
I also went to the Chrysler website:

and I show up has having the plan in my name.

Just seems to me, a big-3 automaker could get their act together and have a printed copy available in less than 3 weeks.
