I was looking for a CLS 55 amg but not so sure anymore cause of the supercharger engine problems being costly and the car being old now that a new model is coming out soon. I'm wondering how much I could buy a CPO 07 CL 550 black on black. How much should I be paying walking out of the door and how much should asking price be?

Go with a 55.

You could also look at a CL600. Check edmunds.com for an estimate on pricing and add $500 to $1000 for the CPO cost.

I agree on the CPO cost calculation. As far as everything else, there are no surprises with your advice. CL55 guys say to get CL55s and CL600 guys say to get CL600s. Personally I have had a CL55 for three years now, and mileage now in the 90s--no major problems.

Both the 600 and 63 are faster than the 550. The 63 is going to cost more since it is a newer model; a 2009 model year I think is when the 63 motor came out.

600 is faster than a 63. 600 is more expensive new than a 63, but probably cheaper used, since the AMG model doesn't depreciate as fast.

Check eBay, your dealer, Autotrader to find prices. Edmunds will give you an estimate, but this is a rare car, so it's all about what's on the market.
