if i were to purchase an 03 it would definately be the CL55. this car is an instant classic. all of the new AMG's are terrific. if you only need to carry 4 people in a pinch and 2 is the usal then it is definately the CL55.

E55 or SL55 depending on what your after.
I would say the CL55 in a heartbeat but the simple fact that a model refresh is due in the next 2 years automatically exlucdes it from my list.

Ah, the luxury of choices. Perhaps waiting for the 65AMG is a good idea. As far as which body style, my order or preference would be SL, CL, E, S.
I'd take the SL first because I think it is the prettiest to my eye and it's a hardtop coupe or open convertible whenever you want. The CL if you need more space and the E or S if you need the sedan.

OK so you already have a practical car that is good all weather, can carry a load, tow a boat, and carry 4 people comfortable. What is the point of another 4 door?! I would go for an SL or a CL. The CL is more comfortable, quieter, can still carry 4 in a pinch, has a real trunk... its more rare.... a lot of ordinary people don't even know what a CL is...
The SL is convertible. Its more of a sports car than the CL.
I own an SUV as well, and it was a tough call between the CL and SL. But the CL won me over with its comfort. I have never in my life been as comfortable in a car as I am in my 600. It is not as rough as an SL. But in warm waether, for shorter rides, the SL is more fun.
I really don't know why you would want an E or an S when you already have a G.

The SL is the most fun and the sound of the exhaust is music to a car nut.
The CL is drop dead gorgeous and while it can carry 4 people it really is not that practical. Entry to the rear seat is fairly easy but egress is best suited for a contortionist. Good performance but it feels calm in comparison to the SL.
The S is by far the most practical and is a real sleeper since most people don't know that the big sedan has a big set of *****. By far the most fun at red lights.

Honestly for a coupe, its one of THE most comfortable back seats. I have had no complaints from any of the 20-something year old women in mine. :p

I will agree that once you are seated that it is quite comfortable for a coupe.
