All depends on that final sale price I guess, but does have potential.

for 41k.. so so... despite the low mileage.

the 05s are not really a 40k car any more at any rate or condition/ mileage imo

imo that was a steal

very rare these cars are...regardless of demand or wholesale pricing......demand would be higher if more people knew of them..... the most undervalued supercar built in the last 20 years....

You again!! People know of them but the demand for a large coupe is limited. The reason so few were built was not to limit supply but to meet demand. The same is true for the CL 55's and I personally can attest to the resale on them. Even people who know what they are are not willing to spend more than what the market is dictating.

lol large?

it the same size roughly as a CTS-V coupe....gets same gas mileage and the 65 is better built being 5 years older ....not to mention the styling of the CL65 is nicer then a CTS...IMO....

And the CTS is twice the price.....

the demand is so high on the CTS-V coupe...no dealers are discounting....

Funny...so when I am crusing around in my 65 and someone comes up to me in the CTS....and assumes he has the **** car ..... after I whip his butt and look good doing it..... he will then quickly google the 65 and say "damn I wish I knew about that car" it is a badass ride.... and I sould of gotten that car.....lol

I have a CTS-V sedan...after throwing about $6K into it, it is MUCH faster than my Kleemann tuned CL65 from a roll (CTS-V: 7.71s 60-130mph... CL65: 8.45s 60-130mph). I am not a huge fan of the CTS-V coupe's rear...but if I were you, make sure the CTS-V coupe is stock before you race....or else you might have to stare at that big rump...

BTW, the CL65 is a full 8" longer and weighs 400lbs more than the CTS-V coupe.

Due to the low milage, it is a rare find and worth the xtra $ 4-5K. Buyer beware--check out for any body work or repaint especially with a paint meter. If it has damage or needs mechanical work WALK ON IT.

a 60 mph roll? wtf

but who races from a 60 mph roll? maybe a 15 mph roll....,,,

$6k? that is 3 x more the money you would put into a CL65 to get the CL65 in the high 10's-low 11's......

besides the CL65 is half the price of a new CTS-V and it looks way better....and much much rarer...

Not really. The Kleemann ECU tune cost $2,500, BMC drop-in filters $200 and upgraded I/C pump was about $300 installed (total of $3K). My CL65 ran a best 11.209 and best trap of 124.00mph (both on drag radials). If I wanted to run 10's I would have to spend a lot more than another $3K. As my CTS-V sits, it should easily crack into the 10's on drag radials and trap in the 128-129 mph range.

BTW, the CTS-V puts down power more efficiently than the CL65 (thanks to its standard LSD...not found on the CL65). As an example, when my CL65 was stock the best 1/4 mile time I could get was a 12.47 on stock tires. My stock CTS-V ran a 12.35 because it was much easier to launch. So your arguments are just based on blind fanaticism than actual experience/facts.

41 is a steal. i dont see "rough" 65's selling for much less than that.

everybody races from 60. you'll blow the tires off at 15 in this car.
$2k to get this thing in the 10's? aint gonna happen. i have a total of $12k in mine and hopefully will run 10.7@128 next outing. i have also been called out by a highly modded ctsv makin 700rwhp. he declined the offer of a 60-160 highway run for $1,000

a steal would be 38k for that car.

a below average cl65 with that kind of mileage will be a 33k car

a below average cl65 with typical 60k miles is not even a 30k car now

alex

i think your facts are a little off base. where are these cars you speak of?
oh thats right, manheim had a couple of trashed lemon law cars with
65-75k miles that sold for under $30k.-that sets the bar.

have not even looked at manheim for those. dont have to. in the last month i have bought 2 05 cl65 from dealers that are trying to unload them as there are absolutely no buyers at any price point that warrants even modest losses for said dealers. i would not disclose pricing, (it is even lower than what i posted as it is wholesale), but i stand by my retail numbers.

you have to realize that i am not quoting you "asked" prices, but actual 30-day actionable prices. what you think the pricing is is more in line with 180 day pricing

Alex,
With all do respect, dealers can t get cars worth a crap anymore at the auctions. They are all turds. Leasing has dried up and pretty much ceased to exist recently. Dealers would love a low mileage car like this. The Manheim MMR numbers are crap. They can't even keep up with the market right now. You buy cars where you can get them right now and you are not gonna see these or steel these type of low mileage rare cars. These are not even at Manhim. Someone already said it, Manheim is full off lemon law, unibody damaged, painted crap anymore. Oh,,,and those cars are selling high due to no other cars being available.

Another reason is top gear gave the cl65 a horrible review. It sounds crazy but people are actually checking the tv review before buying. Strange world where Clarkson can torpedo a great car because it was tested on a wet road.
