I'm not surprised because it the new twin turbo engine which has about 80% of the torques avaliable @ around 1500 RPM. I believe it also get the new 7-sp which help alot in acceleration.

They really shouldn't do that as the trap speed from a GPS based data logger will read up to 2 mph higher than a drag strip's timing lights. The drag strip uses an average of the last 66' to measure trap speed, while the GPS based equipment will measure the speed at 1,320'.

The last naturally aspirated motor in 2010 model CL (non-AMGs) had the 5.5 liter.
The new car, though keeping the same badging, goes down almost a liter in displacement yet gains two turbo-chargers.

Well lets say this car traps only 110mph, this E.T still has to be correct
12.8 1.4 mile, 0-60 in 4.2 seconds 0-130mph in 17.5 seconds!
Which is insanley fast for a 4900 pound car.
I'm not sure where you got your infos but you're wrong again. Just visit the Mercedes website and find out for yourself. Scroll dowm to pages 16 to see the spec, on the new engine.

I agree that 110+mph trap speed is smoking fast, especially since this is the base model CL. The only other thing is that the CL550 weighs in at 4,650lbs (right around the weight of the old W215 CL65). The W216 CL65 is around 4,900lbs. But still the CL550 is pretty impressive.
