Voltage Conv, probably short for Voltage Converter, or voltage transformer, aka ignition control module (ICM). In short it takes the 12V (actually ~13.8V) from your battery and turns it into, well, a lot more volts.

misfires on one side in my mind are always coil packs. the tech replaced the icm as signal from it appeared no good, but that is usually caused by bad coil pack messing up the icm.
if problem reoccurs he will replace the appropriate side coil pack ($$$$).

actually the voltage is increased from 14.4 to 35-40k by the coil pack. that is what coils are for. the icm controls the coil pack.

if the problem resurfaces and the coil pack is replaced the customer should request refund on the icm as it was not the problem in the first place.
