Is CPO an option for out-of-warranty '08 Cl63?
I plunked down for the Chrysler factory plan on the E55 (with no claims to my chagrin
) and would like the security of a warranty on my prospective CL63 purchase. What was the original warranty?
Are MB dealers providing CPO coverage for a fee for out-of-warranty cars? If so, how much?
What are the popular aftermarket choices for this model?
Finally, is history proving that owning an out-of-warranty CL63 is treacherous? I heard enough horror stories on e55s that I was convinced to buy a warranty but I'm hoping the same isn't true with CL63s.
Thanks in advance
The original new car warranty is the same for all MBs, 4/50,000
MBUSA does not allow the dealers to CPO a car once it's out of new car warranty.
I bought as aftermarket warranty on my E-Class from Fidelity Warranty Services and it was pretty good.
Good luck with your eventual decision.

Warrantydirect is not who you want to use for this car. They're OK, but you will have a lot of grief trying to go to MB dealers and get claims paid 100% without reaching into your pocket each time. They like to allow 'book rate', which is often less than what a dealer would charge.
Chrysler does not offer warranties for MB's any more.
The CL63 is more problematic due to the ABC suspension system. Repairs to that alone can pay you back for what you paid for a warranty! And then there are more sophisticated (and problem-prone) electronics.
