What is an 03 CL55 with high mileage worth?

Hi All,
I've been a long time admirer of the 03 CL55 and a Porsche 928 owner which I recently lost to an engine fire. I am now looking to take the plunge but have a limited budget to enter the market. There are some cars with higher mileage on the market (115k - 125k miles) and was wondering if I should make a move on one of them. I've been reading thru the posts and are aware of the ABC, Heat Exchanger, Gasket leak, motor and tranny mount issues that plague these cars but am willing to work with them. So what I wanted to find out was what would one go for with that kind of mileage and relatively good condition? Any thoughts and advice would really be helpful. Thanks very much.

There won't be a huge difference between a 85k and 115k car. Most stuff breaks before that, and regardless of mileage, time takes a toll regardless. These cars don't do well with sitting, so a well maintained 115k mile car (which will have most of the suspension replaced) may end up having fewer repairs than a 25k mile cream puff where everything has sat too long. But yes, I would pay under $20k for a car with that mileage.

Motor and tranny mounts, IC pump, most of that stuff is minor, especially if you do the work or have an indy shop. The ABC suspension is the only major thing to worry about (although anything electronic, hydraulic, or pneumatic can be problematic).

Thanks!

That was good info, and seems on par with ebay sales history. I've got a 05 55 I'm thinking of selling for a newer one. With 100k miles, I can also echo I've got the sames issues which I haven't resolved yet, (motor mounts, tranny mounts, IC pump, and front end susp).

A C215 is not a garage queen car by anymeans. With those types of miles check records and get a propor PPI-Pre Purchase Inspection. It will save you money and high blood pressure. Many people jump into a car like this without getting it checked out first by a dealer or indi shop. ABC is the real main issue on 215/220 body. Have a dealer check them over since chances are they would know the system better then a indi.

I agree 20K or less for that mile range and look for under 100K, if possible.

main thing is service record and a good inspection, also make sure all recalls have been done.

Make sure you have the dealer service record and this filled out on a periodic basis:
