Will Mercedes build me a C63 without a sunroof? Headroom issue.

I ask because I'm 6'6", just got back from the auto show, and the cl is a tight fit. If I had another 1.5" of headroom I'd be golden. It's the perfect car because of no b pillar and offers great visibility.

Not concerned about cost, just comfort. Any other tricks for squeezing more headroom out of a cl?

I just looked up the head room specs for the C216 CL, and it appears that it's only 36.9", like the measly head room in the CLS?

This is hugely disappointing, as I figuring being a monumentally humungous Coupe, the CL could fit my 6'4 with long torso frame in it (the CLS is such a tight fit, my head hurts from banging against the roof when I get out).

Is the CL's head room THAT bad for us tall guys?

TBH, I alway treat my CL like a 2 seater. To me it's an SL with the proportions of an S.
I don't have people in the rear seats (especially behind me) unless it's a pretty girl......who knows how to wipe off her feet and knows not to touch anything, that needs a ride, provided the shotgun seat is taken. Then she can sit in the rear passenger seat.
The rear seats in the CL don't serve their purpose that well. Don't get me wrong, sitting back there is cool. It hugs you very uniquely. It gives off an awesome feeling. But the room isn't the best. It does it, but it isn't an S Class. It really isn't meant to give the rear occupants the feeling of how it feels to be up front, more so than most cars. It works when you go somehere 20-30 minutes away. You don't really want to be back there for more than an hour.
But even with the mediocre rear room, it is the coolest 2 door coupe out. No matter which generation - They're always the coolest of their time, and you rarely see them, regardless of year. They're the car version of Mercedes' G Wagon. I've always preferred the Mercedes CL Class over all the others.
Who else loves their CL and why?

How about the front headroom? That's what I was really upset about finding out has less headroom than one might have though just by looking at the huge thing. The CLS is a cramped disaster inside for my height and torso, and was really upset to find the figures from the CL just as minimal (frontal headroom wise) as the CLS?

I, myself was surprised how little headroom there is in the car. For such a big car, its quite small inside. I wonder if the S class has the same head room considering the CL is based on a S class chasis.

The front headroom is (and overall room) is very ample. You'll be able to fit a really tall or really wide guy (or girl if that's your thing ) quite comfortably. Just lower them or recline them back and your guests should be fine
I'm 5'11" fit/slender guy and I fit perfectly.

Well, that's unfortunate to hear. I knew there was an issue last time I sat in one and I felt like my seat was too far up.... turns out it probably was all the down as I had intended, it just didn't have any more room to go.

36.9" frontal headroom is awful, especially for such a massive car. Looks like it's yet ANOTHER large "M-B Coupe" that I can't fit in. It's pretty much between an E or SL considering what Mercedes builds friendly for me. I'm close to being pissed enough to stop supporting them and support BMW because at least BMW makes cars with ample headroom for taller drivers.

I'm 6'2" and I fit. I still have 2 inches before hitting the sunroof. Its all about setting up the seat properly.

But they make ugly cars. Which BMW are you thinking about? The 7 Series? They don't have a coupe version if it. 6 Series isn't that big inside and is the only car they make that can even remotely compete with the CL. It's your call, but going to a BMW isn't an upgrade.
