2004 CL55 purchased 2/17/2012

Hello all. I've been lurking the board for a few weeks and posted a few comments. Thought it was time to introduce myself and post a picture. I purchased this 2004 CL55 from a Mercedes dealership in St. Louis, MO. It was listed at $29,800. I paid $26,000.

It has 50,100 miles, Keyless Go, Distronic, and a 15% black tint on the glass. Clean Carfax, one owner. Picked it up on 2/17/2012 and it was in the shop on 2/27/2012 with inoperative driver's door controls. Four replaced wires later and all is good. It will need front rotors in a few thousand miles.

No worries there. I have been looking for the "right" CL for about 3 years. I fell in love with the Merecedes pillar-less coupe design when I purchased a 2004 CLK500 back in 2008. Have wanted a CL ever since. I'm 6'3" and the CLK didn't have the cabin space I needed.

I sort of lucked into an AMG as I was not looking specifically for a CL55. Glad the stars aligned for me on this one.

I stumbled into Mercedes by getting a CLK for my wife. She hated it, I loved it. Good fortune. And I got the CL because I wanted a Big Boy car too. You will love it.

And once you go AMG, you will never go back. I tried.

It took me about 8 months to find the "right" CL too haha. I was actually in the market for a black/black Toyota Supra when I happened to come across a picture of a CL55 on VIP Modular VR08's....and 8 months later it's in my garage

Took me 4 years to buy my CL55. I remember I almost bought a CL500 back in early year 2005 (2004 CL500 with 5K miles). They wanted 87K and I said I would pay 80K ... somehow the deal didn't go thru.

I finally got my 2005 CL55 in 2009.

Now I want an additional G-wagon AMG!

Yup, once you go for AMG, it's hard to adjust for "regular" MB.

Yeah but I lost 4 years of CL enjoyment .... I had 2 SL back then to fill my "urge"

How's your LS430? I've always tempted to trade that one in for another MB.

Clean car! I saw it at the dealership while I was servicing my mother's '04 CL600 a couple months back. It had been sitting there for a couple months. Big coupés are a hard sell, but I am glad the car is in someone's hands that will fully enjoy it. Congrats!

Speaking of big coupes. While in the dealer the other day, I sat in a last generation CLS, because I love the look of them and they are 4 doors (other couples complaining about getting in and out of the back), and I thought is was very small. A pillar and roof close to my head (I'm only 5'10") and narrow. I obviously can't go in that direction. I'm used to an H2 and I thought the CL was little, but now, not so much.

Yup. They had 2 of them sitting on the lot. This one and an '03 CL55 in black. The black one had almost 70K miles on it and was about $3K less. I opted for the lower miles and the upgrades that come with the '04.

They transferred the black one to their sister dealership in Frontennac. It was pretty clean as well.

It's like complete night and day difference and I love it! The car is smooth as butter and I honestly have nothing bad to say about it . It's the perfect car to use as a daily.
